England get Wales and Northern Ireland. That'll be fun.  Big grin And I don't know why they bother drawing England and Poland separately, they always end up in the same group - in the '90's in every single qualifying tournament!

Group 1 is an absolute nightmare.

When I saw the draw pots, I thought they'd do their damndest to get all 4 "home" and the Irish Republic countries in the same group!

Pretty tough qualifying: group winners, 2 best runners-up and the rest of the runners-up playing off.

David

True, but if England don'twin that group, then they don't deserve to get to the World Cup finals. Only thing about it I suppose is that the Welsh and Irish will be really up for the games against England.

I want to know what the Poles think about getting England yet again.  Big grin

I'm not even surprised by having England in our group again. We played with them so many times and last time we won was I believe in 1980.

You want to know what Poles think about getting England again?

"NO, NOT THEM AGAIN!!!"

 Big grin

Canada drew Belize, now thats a team we can beat. I'm not sure who we'd play after that.

Well you can pretty much count us Polaks goodbye...damn it was good...maybe 2010. Why in bloody hell does it have to be England always...can we just get someone like Belgium or bloody Sweden...why oh why..

These are the european groups:

Group 1: Czech Republic - Holland - Romania - Finland - Macedonia - Armenia -Andorra

Group 2: Turkey - Denmark - Greece - Ukraine - Georgia - Albania - Kazakhstan

Gruppe 3: Portugal - Russia - Slowakia - Latvia - Estonia - Liechtenstein - Luxembourg

Gruppe 4: France - Ireland - Switzerland - Israel - Cyprus - Färöer Islands

Gruppe 5: Italy - Slowenia - Scotland - Norway - Belarus - Moldavia

Gruppe 6: England - Poland - Austria - Wales - Northern Ireland - Aserbaidschan

Gruppe 7: Spain - Belgium - Serbia-Montenegro - Bosnia-Herzegovina - Lithuania - San Marino

Gruppe 8: Sweden - Croatia - Bulgaria - Iceland - Hungary - Malta

Pretty well balanced, if you ask me.
However, Group 1 seems to be the most difficult one with Holland meeting the Czech Republic again (after the Euro 2004) and Romania as one of these underdogs who happen to be playing brilliant one day and like sh**t on the other day.

I´m laready looking forward to some tough matches like:

Luxembourg vs. Liechtenstein
Cyprus vs. Färöer Islands
Armenia vs. Andorra
England vs. Austria  Big thumbs up

Daniel

England should beat Azerbaijan, Northern Ireland and Austria without too much difficulty, Wales and Poland could be tricky though. Overall England should reach Germany 2006.

Spain should make it through to the world cup with not to many problems. Looks as if poor old berti will get the sack before 2006 also.

Bleh, as usual the furthest west the Danish team gets to go is bloody Albania (no offense to an possible Albanians, but please!). I am, however, looking forward to these not-for-kids matches:
Turkey vs Greece (hello fireworks!)
Turkey vs Albania
Greece vs Albania

I'm absolutely positive that England will be allowed to travel to Germany in 2006...as tourists, even without visa, I guess  Big grin. We even let you buy tickets to watch some games...

Nonono, I really hope you island guys make it, I just love to read the Sun titles BEFORE the event...afterwards it's going to be Spice girls again or whoever is ready to bare some skin in 2006 Big grin

I know it's only VfB but I like it!

Additionally, our many famous breweries are already looking forward to "serving" the throats of lots of thirsty english fans.
They could get into serious trouble if the Brits don´t make it to Germany in 2006.
So I sincerely hope the Brits will come out to be in first place after the qualifyers.

Daniel, they better be ready, because if the stadiums are going to continue their current "no-alcohol-in-our-beer" policy, it _could_ lead to serious trouble with the English fans, unless the breweries would step in with plenty of alcohol.

LOT like Poland won every game against Sweden? Not exactly,
Serbia vs Bosnia another hot derby, Latvia vs Russia also hot.
