As the biggest presence here in the Non-Aviation forum, I was curious if anyone has met or seen a photo of the real Alpha1? It would be interesting to have a face to face conversation with him as strong convictions make for good debate. That would be fun. But short of that, what does he at least look like?

Well, how about it there Alpha1? Let's see you post your picture. We all want to see the "man" behind his words.

Surely being so bellicose, you won't shy away from this simple request?

Will you?

I've met me, Commander rabb, does that count?  Big grin

As for sending pictures of myself, I've never done that, and it's just my personal decision not to. Sorry.  Sad

And, in fairness, I think that L-188 and KROC are the biggest presences on Non-Av, not me.

Mr. Rabb:

Let's you post YOUR picture before you chastize Alpha1 or anyone else for not posting theirs.

No that does not count Alpha 1. As for the biggest presence Ual747, yes I believe he does have that in Non-Aviation.

No matter what you think of his position on things he is certainly consistent.

Too bad he wont "grace" us with his mug!

I have not chastised anyone. I merely asked. And his decision not to is a fair one.

As for mine, I will think about it.

I've met Alpha1 once during a connection in CLE in October. Basically, the only thing we talked about were our families and Continental during the quick meeting we had. No time for political discussion/"heated debate", and that was probably a good thing. As for his looks, well, I'll leave that up to Alpha1 to decide if he wants his true visage revealed. Like I said on airwhiners, he's a nice guy, but I probably wouldn't be saying the same thing if we talked politics  Big grin

As for the biggest presence on a.net, probably KROC, with Alpha1 running a close second or third.

So you have actually met the man??? WOW!

And he's a nice guy? Just goes to show you ones internet presence can often be quite different in real life.

Thanks for sharing that JCS17. At least your meeting was in a safe controlled environment! LOL But safe for whom?

Well, he did seem to care about his wife and kids a lot, so I guess thats what I'm basing it on.

Considering the flight he was working to MCO (I think it was Orlando) was delayed, I'm sure a number of frustrated travelers would have had my back. Big grin

For presence, my vote goes to the SHAFT crew.

but no, I couldn't have a good political debate with Alpha, as I tend to agree with most things that he says, so it wouldn't make for good argument, just alot of agreement.

I've met Alpha1 many times and had known him for a few years before he even graced airliners.net with his presence. In fact, I believe it was me who actually suggested that he sign up for these forums way back in early 2001. Little did I know the can of worms that I would be opening!

Seriously though, he's a great guy in real life and someone that I'm proud to call a friend.
