McDyess has already proven to be a bust, and bailed on Phoenix once before. He's an unrestricted free agent after this season, so don't look for him to be back. This would give the Suns a lot of breathing room to sign a big name next year, if any are available.
The Knicks get arguably the best or second-best point guard in the NBA, who is locked up in a long-term deal. They also get a resurgent Hardaway, who is earning $30 million over the remaining 2 years on his contract.
Personally, I think Bryan Colangelo went a little trigger-happy and pulled off an ill-advised deal solely to get cap room...and in so doing, essentially conceded that this season is over.
Thoughts?

I think the season was over for the Suns before ths trade. The Knicks now have the best back court in the NBA with Houston and Marbury. The Suns will now build around their existing stars in Marion and Stoudemaire. Kobe Bryant is a free agent next season, so maybe the Suns might be a new home for him. At least he will get less obtrusive media in Phoenix than in Los Angeles.

Well, Stephon Marbury is going home to NYC. He'll be happier than out in the desert. Maybe he'll play better....

WOW! Good deal, hate to lose Ward, but to gain a player the caliber of Marbury & Hardaway, amazing! Hate to lose the first round draft picks, but, who knows this sounds like a good deal. Hope that these players play up to their potential, when good players enter the New York market, their abilities seem to dimish, must have something to do with the New York night life.

The Knicks made out like a bandit on this one.
It remains to be seen if the mesh well together and stay healthy!
