Careful with those translators .... one good test is to translate back the passage you just translated and see if it still makes sense. It will likely be hilarious.
Here's an example (I took the text from a BBC article about women buying gadgets):
Original English: Research commissioned by the CES organisers looked at how women were treated when they went shopping for gadgets. It found that most of all, women were irritated by unhelpful and pushy salespersons. Many simply felt dumb, even though they considered themselves smart women.
Translated to French: La recherche commissionnée par les organisateurs de CES a regardé
comment des femmes ont été traitées quand elles sont allées faire
des emplettes pour des instruments. Il a trouvé cela surtout, des femmes ont été irritées par les vendeurs inutiles et pushy. Beaucoup se sont simplement sentis sourds-muets, quoiqu'ils se soient considérés les femmes futées.
French version then translated back to English: The research commissioned by the organizers of THESE looked at how
women were treated when they went to make emplettes for instruments. It found that especially, women were irritated by the useless salesmen and pushy. Many was simply smelled deaf-mute, though they were considered the smart women.
