To be clear, do you mean:

A) American beer; specifically of the types that are watered down? ( basically, mass-marketed mainstream lagers and "light" )

B) The assumption that American beer, by definition, is weak?

That said, I have great fondness for American beers. Schlitz, Blatz and Pearl come to mind...
