Seems a bit hypocritical that Big Al goes around criticizing Pres. Bush for using force instead of diplomacy to solve problems yet, his first response to something he doesn't like is to bear hug and toss someone to the floor.

Typical liberal behavior, "Follow what I say, not what I do."

Interesting. I wonder what Bush supporters would do if a group of Larouchies showed up at one of his events..

That's easy, they'd have him arrested, held without access to counsel and charged with aiding and abetting terrorist groups.

They'd tap his family's phones, intercept their e-mail and have the IRS conduct a complete audit of all family members stretching out two generations and their close friends.

When a federal judge would order that the protesters be given access to counsel, the administration would ignore the order, have the detainee declared a "enemy combatant" and shipped to Guantanamo, Cuba for indefinite detention.

Is that what you were looking for Santos?

However, would any of that excuse Al's behavior. I hope he gets sued civilly and brought up on assault and battery charges.

It is a joke, isn't it? Comeon, Al Franken picking up a 45 pound bag of dog food is a stretch, much less a full grown man.

Quit calling an airport ramp "Tarmac" and a taxiway "runway".

As well he should. There's no excuse for that kind of crap. The Larouchies are sure to milk this for all it's worth. I'm sure Al was not counting on giving them free publicity...

Franken - who seemed in a state of shock and out of breath after the incident - was helped back to his feet by several people who watched the tussle. Police arrived soon after

I just LOVE that line. FRANKEN was in a state of shock? What about the poor guy he BLINDSIDED? No mention at all is made of the innocent victim in this tussle.

I guess it's kind of hard to argue liberal bias in the media on this one though; the guy he attacked was even more liberal than he was.

My hat's off to the Post though, only they could make the aggressor seem like a victim. I mean, not only did he attack the poor guy unprovoked but the freakin' coward had to get him from behind.

Oh, yeah. A tip of the fedora to you. Your scenario was funny and pithy (as Bill O'Reilly would say). Quite different from the splatter jobs we've seen on this board...
