A bigger problem may be when they realize they can access the forums and start reading your posts!!! (Membership to that club isn't exclusive to BigphilInNYC)
I get the impression some women don't like to think they're being upstaged by anything that's gonna take their man's attention away from them.

Yeah, my "better half" just doesn't get it. Now she just walks in and dumps our four-month old daughter on my lap to look after, which makes it really hard to type (especially now that she has discovered that the keys make a funny sound when you hit them).

My wife is the same way. She doesn't understand why I am on this forum or A.net itself for so long. I am thankful to have this forum because it seems almost nobody I know enjoys and appreciates aviation like I do... and I am even talking about people I work with AT THE AIRPORT!!! This is THE one place I can go and talk with people who truly appreciate flying!
And just like ANX4fishing said.. "Hey, at least ya'll are not surfing porn."

My mum and sis think im mad for spending so long on this site, and at times my nephew has been dumped on me and he LOVES playing with the keys, turning the monitor on and off, and crashing planes when he grabs the control stick when im playing FS
It the first thing i do when i get in from work, and somtimes spend till 2am browsing the site.
I agree with Gulfstreamguy, not a lot of people i know are into aviation, so this a great site
