I don't really have a "favourite" movie, coz it depends what I am in the mood to watch at the time, and I like movies from all genres, and all countries. But these are my favourites.
Australian: The Castle
British: Life of Brian/Holy Grail
Russian: Война и Мир (War and Peace) -- the only true epic.
American: Shawshank Redemption/Green Mile
French: Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain
German: Das Boot
Italian: La Vita è Bella
Hong Kong: Shaolin Temple
Indian: The Party j/k

Some are on here because I just love to watch them, like Empire Strikes Back, but others are on my list because they are just so wonderful to watch. Like Young Frankenstien. But I think the world would be a very sad place if anyone of these movies didn't exist.
