Republicans in the House will not be supporting GWB's immigration bill:

And they are not happy about all the spending.....

So? It has always been DOA. Tom Delay (House Majority Leader) and Dennis Hastert (Speaker of the House) came out against it long ago. When the two most powerful positions in the House are against something, it will disappear into the dark world of subcommittees never to be seen again. On the other side, the Democrats can't support it since they do not want to give Dubya any election year victories.

As for the spending, the President doesn't decide where and how much to spend. That is the responsibility of Congress. They're the pork masters and need to learn how not to bloat up each budget by billions of dollars. The only thing Bush can do about spending is veto the bill(s).

Yes, but the executive branch plans the budget and then submits it to a committee of Congress for approval.

Can't say nothing else but THANK YOU. This bill is horrible. This would allow Illegal immigrants to break U. S. Immigration Laws and not get prosecuted by the government. This is a sell out for votes. Even though I support most of President Bush's proposals, this one I can't.

Thank God, this was something where I was completely in opposition to Bush. Amnesty to criminals is completely dangerous and would make the economies of border states even worse.
