I find telescopic radio antennas mounted near the boot really elegent except for the ugly angles that Mercedes has started placing them in someting like 45 degrees my perfect angle for the antenna is between 85 and 90 degrees, by the way I think MB have done away with antennas all together the last were introduced in the 96-98 E class models, ive also noticed some BMW models have those antennas too in some markets while most dont why is that

An antenna is not a necessary thing. The majority of Mercedes and other luxury cars are used in citys and where radio frequencies are strong. They probably have placed an antenna somewhere though. Whether it be in the windshield or under the hood or something.
And that was the longest sentence I have ever read.

On the Mercedes S series there is a small antena on the top of the rear windom. It isn't more then a few inches long (or something like that). I think it looks nicer with out a huge antena sticking up.
