Taco Bell has a new promotion whereby they will give a free taco to everyone in the US, IF the Russian space station Mir hits a 40 ' x 40 ' target in the South Pacific. They should give a performance bonus to the marketing genius who came up with this idea. Sheer brilliance!

I saw the dude on TV this morning i think. He said Taco Bell took out a $10,000,000 insurance policy to give out 260,000,000 (thats the number the guy gave for the number of tacos) tacos incase it does hit that little target. They showed a picture of the target in the ocean, it looked cool. My question is, how are they going to give everybody just one free taco? A coupon in the mial? or what? ya know? And, if they only took out a ten million policy, divided by two hundred and sixty million, that would only be three and a half cents per taco. Is that how much it costs to make one taco?

Singapore_Air: You hav GOT to be kidding me... you don't know what a taco is? I guess you could say it's ground beef with lettuce, cheese, etc. in a hard tortilla shell... it's Mexican cuisine at it's most copied...

That's the kind of articulation from you that this country needs in order to be assured of a competent man in the Oval Office, George! Keep it up!
I'd rather have Burger King or even McDonald's do this kind of promotion because I would probably never eat at Taco Bell, but I think it's a great marketing ploy considering how cheap it probably is to make a taco.
