What became of the character cast, i.e Tom Wopat (Bo), John Schneider (Luke), Catherine Bach (Daisy), Denver Pyle (Uncle Jesse), Sorrell Booke (Boss Hogg) as well as Rosco and Enos ? I think they made a movie with the original characters, but I'm not too sure.
There was talk of doing a remake with Paul Walker and Britney - any news on that ?

I believe Sorrell Booke (Boss Hogg) died last year, but the rest of them are all doing fine.
Most of them hold autograph sessions and stuff at car shows and conventions to make some money. In fact I heard Cooter was at the Cleveland car show 2 weeks ago.

The star of the show became Rosco...whose absolute idiocy was well played by James Best. Thirty years later, I'm still using some of his sayings and mannerisms.

And isn't it amazing how "the South" looks so much like the San Fernando Valley.
Happiness is not seeing another trite Ste. Maarten photo all week long.

Sorrell Booke (Boss Hogg) died in 1994.
Denver Pyle (Uncle Jesse) died on Christmas Day 1997 less than 2 weeks after receiving a star on the Hollywood "walk of fame."
Tom Wopat (Luke Duke) just got a part on Broadway playing Richard Gere's part in "Chicago." He has had tremendous success on Broadway.
John Schnieder had a reoccuring role on "Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman" for a few seasons.

Very true...the first 5 episodes were filmed in Covington, GA. After the show debuted with strong ratings and CBS decided to keep it going they moved filming and production to California. Since production stopped the sprawling suburbs tookever and all that countryside has since been paved over to make way for more homes and businesses. You can tell which episodes were filmed in GA. It's very obvious.
Supposedly a movie is supposed to come out at some point within the next few years. Reportedly Paul Walker will play Bo, Ashton Kutcher will play Luke, and Britney Spears will play Daisy.

Ben Jones was defeated in 1992 by Don Johnson, an Athens dentist (who was defeated a few years later). He attempted a comeback against Newt Gingrich (who was SOH at the time) and was trounced. He moved up to Virginia, where he unsuccessfully ran for Congress in 2002. He used to run a similar museum up in Sperryville, VA, but it closed late last year. http://www.cootersplace.com
Tom Wopat and John Schneider have done a variety of projects and have even appeared on Broadway and in touring productions of Broadway shows.
