Here is something that I've often wondered about.
Why is it that a woman who is considered a "natural beauty" is anything but, and a REAL "natural" woman is considered ugly?
Consider this: women, in their natural state have hairy legs, pits, and pubes running up to their navels. Also, a "natural" woman will be somewhat heavier than todays "beautys". Like I said, they'd be considered very unattractive. Also, I'm not confusing physical attraction with good hygiene. So keep that in mind.
Now look at what constitutes a "natural" beauty" by todays standards:
as often as not, cosmetic surgery is used. Ill fitting clothing not conducive to good posture, breathing, or walking. Then look at all the cosmetics they wear....
They do far more exercise than is necessary to maintain a healthy immune, cardio/respitory system. Perhaps even stressing their bodies to the point to where they may LOOK nice, but are actually doing more damage than good. Often, a "beautiful", "healthy" woman is malnurished because they are afraid to eat anything but lettuce and cucumbers. They get their "nourishment" from synthetically produced vitamins and other "nutritional" suppliments.
So tell me again what is so natural about todays naturallly beautifully women?

There is nothing natural about what Western Society considers "beautiful".
Basically without writing a thesis, I think that as Corporations got bigger, stronger and richer they needed to create a "need" to buy products and turn women into rabid consumers...to do this they needed women to become insecure and the easiest way to do that was to bombard young women with pictures of unattainable ideals..slim waists, large breasts, perfectly plucked bodies, etc..all things that are attainable ONLY by buying things..cosmetics, implants, hair removers, bras, gym memberships, etc...etc..
try and find a western women who doesn't have massive amounts of cosmetics, clothes, shoes...its scary..
And guys don't feel smug..the same thing is being foisted on us now..more guys than ever are buying creams, getting plastic surgery..companies know they have the women hooked now its our turn!

I agree with you Matt, and I feel your pain. Natural beauty should be defined as feeling comfortable and secure about one's self to not have to go to great lengths to establish that fact.

I used to think that what is considered attractive to us was prewired. But then you look at old pictures and wonder how the world ever stayed populated.

It always amuses me when women get nose jobs and fake breasts and pump their lips so full of collagen they look like the back end of a cow, then wonder why they attract shallow, superficial men.
Sort of like the fat, balding guys who hook up only with 22 year-old hardbodies then think all women are predatory gold-diggers.
If you have one feature you'd like to improve and have the means, I think you maybe should. If you have more than one it is probably more a matter of your perception and not of reality. Look into self-esteem issues first.

According to your definition of natural Beauty, Matt, it all started in the 40's 50's and 60's with women beginning to do their own thing with out the help of men. Women began to wear skirts etc, they would not want hairy legs.
I don't think that type of women is beautiful. I think a women is beautiful if they don't need make up and they still look good. Maybe its because of the decade I was born in and all but I don't find hairy armpits, lots of pubic hair and hairy legs attractive at all.

Doll it up.
Shave it off.
Wear it tight.
Go to freaking spa ...every day!
Dear God, I don't want to ever see a woman without makeup....hairy pits or legs, etc.
First thing I look at to determine a woman's self esteem? Her nails. They should be manicured to perfection. Hell, if I can have it done...they can too.
Beyond gross for woman to be 'natural'
That being said, it's perfectly ok to go for the 'natural' look while still adhering to the above...check out any swimsuit issue...

Manicured, ok, but a woman elaboratecnails is a woman with her priorities out of place.

NormalSpeed, Amen......a real man who is not afraid to be honest!
I am 100% female and love it....but there is only so far that I would go to be "accepted". Beauty is only skin deep -- there are certain things that are a must but going beyond that is really ....crap! Do the nails, shave the legs & pitts, work out within limits and be comfortable with her figure, wear makeup with reason -- but when it comes down to having to rely on "FAKE" implants and/or any type of plastic surgery.........that to me should tell a man that this girl/woman is very unsure of herself, either that or is trying to impress and that she is an attention seeker!
We all age and there is nothing we can do about that but once those fake parts start to "malfunction" or whatever you call it.....look out!
Just my 2cents worth!

Greg, aren't you gay? What the hell does it matter to you?
I don't wear makeup and my nails look like crap...but so what? Why does that matter? While there are few men who would call me beautiful many call me cute because I am secure in myself...and I am prettiest on the inside.

If Nicole Kidman had to parachute out of plane to save her life and landed in the mountainous regions of New Guniea...the locals would probably barbeque her! She would not be their flavor of 'beauty'.
If you had to date a natural New Guinea chik....you'd probablyy out run the space shuttle.
So yes we are wired...back in the renaissance period...rubenesque women (super chunky ones) were considered beautiful..I think it was because it you wound up saving on firewood, truth be told.
They say Mona Lisa's smile was the most beautiful, today, her prom date would be Milhouse from the Simpsons.
Basically, IMHO today beauty is about how much you are willing to permit the 'wiring by Hollywood/Corp America' affect you. And I think most people are very realistic when it comes to acting on that. But someone wants a boob job...why should you care? Before they die, they may want to experience men tripping all over themselves to by them a drink! That's what life is..about experiences not sitting back, wasting time highlighting flaws and faults.
