Just a curious question.......
A friend of mine from airliners.net who I have ben e-mailling for a while , is coming over to BKK and I am thinking of meeting up with him. Do you think it's safe? Considering I'm a female ( believe it or not ). Anyone ever have good experiences meeting up with airliners.net friend you would like to share with us?

Well, I didn't actually meet him unfortunatly. I was supposed to meet Matt D. at LAX. I missed him though
I think it would be pretty safe...as long as you do it in a public place like the airport. I wouldn't take him to your house or anything like that just yet

Hi guys. Yes, I did met up with a friend from airliners.net a couple of days ago in Sydney. We've known each other for a couple of months now, and as luck would have it our holidays would both be in Sydney. Jonas (Lauda777) is from Stockholm in Sweden and I'm from Singapore, but currently studying in Melbourne.
We spent a whole afternoon together walking around Sydney's Darling Harbour, then took a ferry to Manly and sat at the beach and watched the surf. We took a couple of pictures as well, and I'll be posting them on this site as soon as I get them developed.

Yep. I met up with YWG777 and 2 other users (can't remember their usernames) at the airport in Winnipeg back in Feb. It was the airport open house none of my friends would be caught dead at the airport. If you stay in a public place and watch what you say about where you live, it should be okay. In order to pick them out easier you should tell them what you will be wearing on that day. Other than that, good luck!

I've met FlyF15 in ROA, AA777-200 & UAL_Bagsmasher in DFW... I wasn't really nervous about meeting any of them because i have chatted 2 them online for soo long, and it was at an airport, so i figured nothing would happen. Anyway, I had a blast

A few months ago I met Avia_Arg in Argentina and most recently Sea_Tac2000 in Seattle. Both very nice people. In fact Avia_Arg and myself will (most likely) be working together. Sea_Tac2000 is a riot!
Like everyone has said as long as you meet in a plublic you should be alright.

I met "LatinPlane" in Los Angeles last month while on a 48 hour lay-over and I have seen "Lima" in Buenos Aires a few times now.
I had a good time meeting them and had great chats with them. Got them a few memorabilias from Air France too.

I've met most of the people from Sydney on here. Additionally 1 from melbourne and brisbane respecively. The only international person I've met up with is Lufthansa747 aka Lari - when he was on his RTW trip. We had a fantastic couple of hours spotting together in late april.
The end of the year meetings with Jubi and Brum are on the cards!

Why not?? There is always security at an airport. I'm supposed to meet a pilot.

Anyone in Phoenix want to meet up? I'm facing a probably 7 hour layover at Skyharbor on Saturday (6 pm-1:25 am), and I sure would like something to do besides sit in the airport alone! On a side note, does anyone know how close PHX is to the city? Would it be feasible to leave the airport for dinner or something? Is their public transportation?
