I was wondering how hard it would be for a spell checker to be added to the forums. I think that this would be juts be helpful in improving the quality of the forums. Something that could be used is the spell checker on AOL mail. Any one who uses AOL probably knows what I a talking about. When you click send a spell checker pops up. When you click post on this forum a spell checker would pop up. I don't know how hard this would be to add, so it might be more work then Johan wants.

Yeah the idea has come up before. But there are two main problems.
1) Which English would we use, British, American, or Canadian?
2) We use far too many abbreviations for it to work. It would be catching things like AC, UAL, YYZ, aircraft reg's. Even if it did recognize those, it wouldn't recognize them the times we accidentally type them.

I use AOL and their spell-checker causes me more problems than anything. It comes up with words that are un-know and then insists they are correct. I tend to press "skip" whenever they prod me to change something.
