Task Force 121 is on the move. (Or at least it has been) And now, since the news is starting to break open on the "massive" effort underway behind the scenes, the end may be near for the leadership of Al Qaeda.

First on the list is Ayman Al-Zawahiri (no it is actually not Bin Laden). This is the prize that will be claimed first. Followed by lesser figures.

The scoundrels are on the move and intel is ripe.

You may ask who or what is Task Force 121?

Task Force 121 is a rapid deployment unit built out of elite Special Operations forces from the Army, Navy and Air Force. The CIA has some it's own members "attached" and they have a large accompanying "conventional force" to seal off areas while the "capture" occurs.

We go live now to Pakistan. Wish us well!

It won't happen till much later this year. Just in time for a presidential photo-op just before the fall elections. It will be timed to distract joe-average voter away from the issues of the domestic economy and it's dismal performance.

You know..... Rah, rah, wave the flag, vote for GW.

Can you spell C-Y-N-I-C-A-L ? ? ?

Although getting Bin Laden would be great, it would not end our war on terror. There are still many cells out there. Bin Laden is just the figure head of the orginization. Also, it seems a bit suspicious that they're getting this close just as Bush's approval ratings have been sliding. Could be a coincidence, but I thought it was worth a second thought.

I still am looking for the operational security on this mission.

I wonder if the liberal media is playing up what is happening in the hopes that it fails and they can embaress the president and give a boost to whomever the democratic nominee for the president is.

It's true. Although capturing Bin Laden would probably not be much of a tactical victory, it would damn sure be a psychological victory. A huge one at that. Nearly every single American wants his ass caught. Regardless of the military, political, or any other reason that is behind it. We need this.

One has to wonder if the boys going out to look for Osama & Co. really wonder about taking him alive.

Would you be more of a hero coming home, if you were part of the unit which captured OBL .... or the unit which smoked his sorry ass?  Big grin

And I think bin Laden's importance to the al-Queda organization is not to be underestimated. Reading up on the matter, a lot of operatives attached to the group were attracted solely by OBL's influence. His death or capture would strike a severe blow.... as his continued elusion from Coalition authorities only helps to embolden those who would want to conduct further terror attacks.

Also, wouldn't it be bad to publicly announce if they're close to catching him? With the speed of information these days, it probably wouldn't take long for him to find out and quickly move to another cave. One would think it would be a better idea to keep the whole thing off the news until he's actually caught.
