I made a Concorde slide show for one of my classes using that song because it fit so well! I even get a little "teary" sometimes! Unfortunately I can't send/post/display it anywhere because I haven't got permission from EVERY photographer to use the pictures on a site or commercially etc.

Horrible song that was far overplayed when it came out. I'm glad I don't have to listen to it all the time anymore, or force myself to change radio stations. The song had potential, but the delivery just sucked.

I think The Verve was hit pretty hard, when they found out that they wouldn't be earning a cent from that song.
Apparently, the strings you hear, is from some symphnoy orchestra's cover of some obscure Rolling Stones song, and Rolling Stones were out faster than you can imagine, demanding that The Verve should either remove the song (of course, this was AFTER it had become a major hit) or pay the Rolling Stones some major royalties.
