I've noticed on a lot of signs out in front of different properties, either residential or business, the for sale/rent/lease/whatever signs say "Brokers Protected"

What does this mean?

"Brokers Protected" can mean a couple of things:

More often the sign has been posted by the property owner and they are telling all brokers that they are welcome and encouraged to bring in buyers/tenants and the owner will pay them a commission. Some owners are reluctant to get brokers/agents involved or give exclusive listings.

If the sign is posted by the broker with the listing on the property they are saying that there will be a commission split, or commission incentive to bring in a buyer/tenant.

Oh how I long for the day when the skies were truly Friendly!
