Sometimes at work I am with co-workers who smoke, and it makes me very sick. I get migraine headaches when I am secondhand smoking. I don't care if people smoke, its their life to do as they wish, but please be courteous to my wishes and do not smoke in close proximity to me. Now that being said I can be outside with someone smoking just not in a car or in a small indoor room.

I totally agree. Altho I don't really have people blowing smoke in my face, I end up smelling & inhaling it anyway. It's a very inconsiderate thing to smoke in public places. They're starting to ban it in certain cities around here.

Why should they flame you or this thread. The Etymology of the word Fag is clearly defined in the dictionaries. Of course it is a word that does have multiple meanings, but as I went to University in Scotland, I don't see why I can't use that word. It's meaning is very clear in the context as used.
Of course it's ironic that people who use the word to mean something else entirely are also fighting to have words such as "marriage" mean something else entirely as well. Isn't it amazing the way language works sometimes

LOL, whenever I hear someone use the word "fag" to describe a smoke, I think it's halarious. Most of the time it's used in the context of "you fag" as in, someone homosexual. I wish the only fags out there were tobacco products lol.
I just thought some of the more sensitive members would get offended..hence the flame
Gotta love the double edged language sword....and I also hate smoke in my face.

Hey, you're the guys who wanted buildings to be completely non-smoking, and so forced smokers right into your path outside the door - the gauntlet if you will. You could have shown some comprehension and allowed us a few smoking lounges here and there, but NoooOOOooo! You had to get all high and superior .
I find it is the non-smokers who are by-and-large the most inconsiderate between the two groups. If you ask nicely a smoker who's smoke is coming your way, he will just about always oblige you - he will either move or put it out. A smoker will generally try to sit someplace where he won't bother anyone. But that courtesy is rarely given to smakers. Most of the time smokers are insulted and ridiculed, and it just wants to make us blow the smoke right back in your face.
I am entirely in agreement with the idea of non-smoking offices, and OK with non-smoking restaurants. But in return, we would like to have a few spaces of our own.

Come to Texas. San Antonio just passed a no smoking law banning smoking anywhere in a public place unless it is seperated by a full height wall on 3 sides and a half height wall on the 4th. I think Dallas has a similar law and most other cities in the state are kicking one around. I love it, not having to smell other peoples cancer when I go somewhere to eat.

In the old days, I was a respectful and considerate person while smoking.
I would ask around "do you mind" before taking a cigarette...
In USA they are quickly becoming non-smoking-everywhere.
No corner for smokers... OK -
Now, I am no longer a considerate smoker.
I live in Argentina since 11 years ago, 99% people smoke here.
When I see an American "non-smoker" it is my revenge...
I blow as much smoke as I can to his face.
USA - land of liberty...
Happy contrails (contrails are a form of smoke)

I agree, in my opinion is it ridiculous that some states banned smoking completely from bars and restaurants, they could split them in a smoking and non-smoking zone, when I am drinking beer I always enjoy a cigarette with it.

I used to smoke, but gave it up- most people I know are pretty cool about it around me and I can tolerate to a point; and then I go find fresh air. But, as the old saying goes: "The worst smoker out there is a REFORMED smoker. I'd take a smoker over that-anyday.
