The syndicated TV talk show of Laura Schlessigner, criticized by homosexual rights groups and snubbed by advertisers and viewers, taped its final episode earlier this week in Los Angeles. Reruns may continue to air through the fall on certain more provincial stations.

Poor ratings had prompted many stations in major television markets to air the program in the middle of the night. Our local CBS-affiliate chose to air the program at 2AM.

In a written statement, Schlessinger said, "I believe it could have earned a substantial audience in time, but the television advertiser boycott precluded that."

Will we have the privilege of any additional comments, Dr. Laura???  Big grin

Woo-hoo!!!!!!!!!!
The self proclaimed "Dr." is no more.....
Its bad enuff we have The Radical right and Jerry Falwells group of hypocrits promoting their hate, so now we dont have to listen to the "Bleach-bloneheaded-divorced-going-thru-her-midlife-crisis-I-wanna-be-the-conservative-white-oprah-winfrey-to-make-hell-for-the-gay-and lesbian-community-or-anyone-who-doesnt-quite-fall-into-what-I-Think-is-"Normal"-people, spouting her opinions rather than any sort of truth...let her join Rush Limbaugh in the hall of Infame for washed up has beens and hope that we never hear from her again....

Happy Spotting everyone!!!!!

AccessAir

ps, I cant help wonder what Dr. Laura might have had to say about our hobby of spotting aircraft or photographing planes or collecting airline memoribila. She'd probably think we were all not "normal"........

Ever notice the expression on the audience members? They all look bored out of their minds on that show!

So, Dr. Laura, what does it feel like to be an ex-TV star?

I may not agree with the way Dr. Laura treats people, nor do I care for her attitude, but I do admire her for representing a moral standard that is fading in this country. Her views on family values, raising children, and "doing the right things" are right-on in my opinion. In a country that seems to be turning upside-down by corrupting liberalism, it is refreshing to hear people like Dr. Laura, Rush Limbaugh, and Michael Reagan speak out against it.

Just my opinion.  Smile

It is not refreshing to hear racism, sexism and bigotry.

I hope she shuts her fat trap from now on and crawls back to suburbia with her tail between her legs.

Off with her head!

So, she doesn't have the right to speak her opinion against homosexuality? This is one area I do not agree with her on, I don't have a problem with homosexual's... But as an American, she has that right. Once you start taking away free speech, you are breaking one of the foundation's that America was built on. Yes, it may be offensive to certain groups of people, but thats life. Everything is offensive to somebody, there is no "politically correct" answer to solve that problem.

To say that someone is "evil" or "stupid" just because they have a different opinion than you is very ignorant. I personally find 99.9% of all liberal democrats to be obnoxious and annoying, but I don't go around and bash people *personally* for having that view.

Thank god she's off the air. It's about time the so called 'Doctor' went off air and keep her loudmouth for the radio show. Apparently, TV show was toned down. I hear her radio show is ten times worse with her screaming and yelling at callers. CBS should concentrate on Survior 3 and David Letterman.

We never could stand our mothers to "preach, teach and nag," let alone a screeching harpy like Dr. Laura. I'd like to think it was the message that people tuned out, but in this case I'm quite sure it was the messenger.
