Hi guys.

Alzheimer's Test -

Count the "F's" in the following text:

FINISHED FILES ARE THE RE-
SULT OF YEARS OF SCIENTIF-
IC STUDY COMBINED WITH THE
EXPERIENCE OF YEARS...(see below)

Managed it? Scoll down only after you have counted them, okay? Do you think there are three?

How many? 3?
Wrong, there are 6!!--no joke.
Read it again.
The reasoning behind is further down.

The brain cannot process "OF".
Incredible or what? Go back and look again!!
Anyone who counts all 6 "F's" on the first go is a genius.
Three is normal, four is quite rare.

Pretty Crazy!

Does that mean I'm a part time genius? Big grin On the last "of", I remembered that I had already seen that text and that you have to count the "of"s, too.

Hello Aloges.

Well, I don't know if that makes you a part genius or not because you did skip the first two "F'S". However, IMO, it does mean that your memory is working good. Big grin

How'd you do the first time? Do you remember if you were tricked or not?

I only got 3 on my first try, so did my girlfriend. So I guess were both normal, although others may disagree with that ............ about me anyway.  Nuts

Hi guys.

> MD11Engineer, very well done. I guess you're to be considered extra quite rare! Big grin

> Aloges, yeah, only reading the first to letters would explain the mind's failure to register the word "OF" ......... at least in detail.

I thought this was a good mind screw, so I passed it along. I don't know how well known it is though.

I figured this was a mind fuck, so I started counting from the end and went backwards and got them all.

Hi guys.

>WellHung, Well Said!

I agree with you that the test does not specify that you read it normally from the top to the bottom, so, not only are you to be considered a Genius, but you're also very sneaky! Big grin

Oops, sorry, I mixed something up. We don't read the first two letters of a word, but the first and the last letter. They are the ones that have to be at their places while the rest can be a mess and we still can read the word.

I think it means that most people, with such a forewarning, easily see all 6.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

LOL! You might even call my a teacher of some kind (although what I teach is mostly life, to retarded children), but that little episode arrived via e-mail some time ago. I probably wouldn't have made it up in a lifetime.

I did get the last of...so i counted 4.  Smile I think that one does not initally recognize the F's in the of's because it's such a short word that you fail to notice it properly...you just put your attention on the longer words.
