Alzheimer's Test -

Count the "F's" in the following text:

FINISHED FILES ARE THE RE-
SULT OF YEARS OF SCIENTIF-
IC STUDY COMBINED WITH THE
EXPERIENCE OF YEARS...(see below)

Managed it? Scoll down only after you have counted them, okay? Do you think there are three?

How many? 3?
Wrong, there are 6!!--no joke.
Read it again.
The reasoning behind is further down.

The brain cannot process "OF".
Incredible or what? Go back and look again!!
Anyone who counts all 6 "F's" on the first go is a genius.
Three is normal, four is quite rare.

On the last "of", I remembered that I had already seen that text and that you have to count the "of"s, too.

How'd you do the first time? Do you remember if you were tricked or not?

I only got 3 on my first try, so did my girlfriend. So I guess were both normal, although others may disagree with that ............ about me anyway. Nuts

Oops, sorry, I mixed something up. We don't read the first two letters of a word, but the first and the last letter. They are the ones that have to be at their places while the rest can be a mess and we still can read the word.

I think that one does not initally recognize the F's in the of's because it's such a short word that you fail to notice it properly...you just put your attention on the longer words.
