Good for them, M. ST. L. is an awesome little guy, and he's LITTLE.

Now let's just hope the Avs do the same to Dallas tomorrow.

Don't worry, the Lightning will lose in the second round, there's no way in hell they can stand up to the more physical teams in the conference. That being said, the only reason the Lightning won was because of Khabibulin--the Islanders outshot the 'ning in all games except game 5. The vast majority of pundits had the Lightning winning this series, I thought the Isles would win because of their mobile defense (that ended up coughing the puck up one too many times) and Khabibulin's usual implosion in the playoffs. I'm very dissapointed, my girlfriend will have to deal with me moping around for the next month. That sucked, but it will be nice to see Tampa Bay and their crappy fans (couldn't even sell out game two) go down next series.

Long live the Islanders!

Surprised to hear you guys be so dismissive of the Lightning. They finished 2nd over all in the league. After 80 odd games, the table doesn't lie too often. 2nd out of 30 teams is pretty good stuff, why do you expect them to lose to the lowly Islanders who finished 15 points behind them tied for 13th place.

Right now, I too am disapointed. It would have been nice to maybe see a New York-Colorado stanley cup so I could go to the games and root for my isles. Anyway, hopefully they can build over the off season and get a higher seed next year. One thing for sure is that at least they are not the stupid rangers.

All the eastern conference games are absolutely Booorrrrrriiinnnggg....  Yawn  Sleepy. Even the Toronto vs Ottawa games have no intensity, and don't get me started on the other matches. The only match-up that is even worth watching the the Vancouver vs Calgary games, now that is playoff hockey - hitting, intensity, speed. When you have loud fans that are actually into the game, the players benefit. All the other games were dead silent, just pathetic.

Jutes, your Nucks seem to have lost their edge they had at the end of the season, I'm actually seeing Calgary play slightly better hockey in the past few games, might want to watch out.

As for Colorado, they need to step it up BIG TIME.

I'm also hoping that Nashville beats Detroit, nobody needs them in the playoffs.

The problem with Florida teams is that there is so much to do here, year-round, that selling out ANY venue is tough (be it the Dolphins, Bucs, Magic, Heat (OK...I'll give you those two  Smile), Marlins or Devil Rays. Even with the heavy NY fan base here, its hard to sell out Yankee spring training games.

As far as going down in the next series, we'll see but I wouldn't count this team out just yet. I think they still have a lot of playoff hockey left in the tank.

Martin St. Louis isn't exactly a little guy. He is extremely strong for somebody his size, the coach says he's the strongest guy on the team, even over the defenseman. Did you see the goal he scored in OT? In-fucking-credible. I'm a goalie, and its shots like that that make me sweat at night.

Not a hockey fan, but living on Long Island I was hoping the Islanders would win.

Its interesting to see what will happen tonight. Remember Vitaly, the Canucks were down 3-1 last year to the Blues, and came back.

Yes, the Colorado, Dallas series is boring, the Avs should be dominating the Stars.

Well, the Detroit Red Wings just eliminated the pesky Predators. All Detroit needed was a great big burp....the Alka Seltzer worked just fine (I think they used the lemon-lime flavor).  Smile

Now the Wings wait for their next opponent.....if Calgary eliminates Vancouver, the Wings get Calgary. If Vancouver comes back and beats the Flames, then Detroit would get Colorado (who just eliminated the Stars in 5 games).

And Phila. eliminated the defending champ Devils in 5 games.
