Do any of your communities have parades planned for May 1st?

Some might be in honor of May Day,

They usually have a big one in Moscow ...Worker's day?

All over Europe. The trade unions, socialists and communists march, but usualy in seperate parades. In Germany 1st of may is a public holiday.
Most people though don´t go demonstrating, but have a long weekend with their families.

May 1:st is a public holiday in Sweden too... But they're thinking about changing it to the 6:th of June instead... kind of our independence day... although, we were never dependent in the first place...

Read between the lines.

I've never been to one in Moscow but have been three times in 98, 99, 00 in Samara and twice in Kiev 94 and 95. They are really cool and very crowded!! I mostly like to see the WWII veterans marching. This year I will be about a week late to see Kiev's.  Sad

The only problem is that the WW2 vets are slowly dying out. Same in the Normandy this year.
Cuba and North Korea will probably still hold their official parades, but for the others, it will just be independently organised by the respective parties or trade unions. Expect a big parade in Moscow on May 8th (end of WW2)
