Brazil is terribly corrupt. Just now, as I came home, I paid off a cop that pulled me over. There's this problem with my license plate that I'm getting fixed today, but the guy stopped me looking for some money. I'm sad to say, he got some.
But people here are more and more disillusioned with Democracy. When asked "Who do you trust the least" something like 85% say "Politicians". Corruption is institutionalized, everybody knows it happens, constantly, but people have gone into "its life, what are you gonna do?" mode, so they think its normal. Its sad really, cos its such a rich country, in all aspects, and you go out and you see people living on the streets, slums, you name it...
