there's quite a few places other than Louisiana where this (hogs interchangeable with roosters/other dogs) is common  Yeah sure

I've heard of roosters. But that is at least rooster vs. rooster, an even match.

This is just plain BARBERIC.

The bill passed the Louisiana House on Tuesday after Triche showed bloody videos of squealing feral hogs being attacked by specially trained dogs.

The Hog Party.

Does a hog ever win?

...quite a bit.

If it can get its tusks into the dog's side, it'll eviscerate the canine without hesitation.

That is whacko. I have relatives in LA and they have never mentioned it (maybe they don't venture to the wrong side of the bayou), but I think that it's pretty disgusting. Hell, I don't even approve of bull"fighting". Regards...Jack

I don't know all that much about LA/TX area wild pigs, but In AZ we have Javelina that are some of the most viscous creatures anywhere. I wouldn't ever go watch something like hogdoggin or cockfighting, but I understand that it is a tradition for some people. Besides Billy Bob and Bubba have to have something to do after they are done fixing the truck.

Yeah, and just think... these things are larger, heavier, and have longer tusks than Javelina  Big grin

The only real proof you need is that ConcordeBoy resides there, that alone makes it a strange and worthless place.  Big grin

Superfly, I could do that all day long.

I do have an issue with people who think that the hog being put in a pit with a dog is a sport though. The hog is scared and at a disadvantage, it's surrounded by enemies and knows not where the attack will come from until too late.

People that enjoy watching another animal be killed are sub-human.

Left out again. I'm crushed  Crying . I feel like the guy picked last for his high school Phys Ed team.....wait a minute, I WAS the last guy picked for my high school PE team!

IMissPiedmont: would you believe cock-fighting is still legal down here? There was an effort going on recently to outlaw it, don't know where it stands. Only other state where it's legal is New Mexico.

How's the old saying go....."Yankee by birth, Rebel by choice"?....no, how about "Californian by birth, Louisianian by choice"?....no.....I know....."Valley Boy by birth, New Orleanian by fate". There, that's it!!! Gag me with a spoon. Rad, man!

Hey, my mom went to school in SoCal with Frank Zappa, so maybe there's something to it. Wait a minute, Jim Mora (woulda, coulda, shoulda) was also part of that crowd, and he ended up here!
