oh I almost forgot - Gaddafi, had accused the health workers of acting on

orders from the CIA and the Israeli secret service, Mossad.

40 babies were killed, and 400 children were infected with HIV = (440 victims).

All this because of some nurses and doctors ignorance and misconduct. Actually, If you were really following this issue from the begining, you would have noticed that it has been proven during the trial that most of the nurses and doctors were working many times under the effect of "self-made" alcohol drinks.
So what do you expect?
Isn't death sentence still widely experienced in many fine countries worldwide(i.e, USA)?
I've heard of people sentenced to death in the US for killing not more than 1 or 2 people. so what?
These doctors and nurses got a normal and open trial, and they still have the right to appeal just like in any other healthy system in the world, nothing is final for them yet.
So, I still don't understand what is the main reason behind this thread, could you please be more clear?
Are you with or against the verdict?
what other suggestions do you have?
If you just want to prove your anti-Arab direction, I assure to you that this wasn't the good example.

Do you have children RONEN?

although I have a complete trust in the Libyan judicial system. (god)

but please read .

"the The medics had always protested their innocence and said they had been tortured by the police, with daily beatings, sexual assault and electric shocks."

add to that Nine Libyans who worked at the same hospital were acquitted.

and the statement of "bad" kadafi made in 2001

(todays "good" kadafi would not make the same statement )

come on.

Marco,

Isn't the US the mother of all nation's freedom and democracy?

I just couldn't find any other better example.

RONEN,

I don't suppose that you are considering these babies and children as future terrorists?

I am still waiting for your explanation.

I don't think the point of his thread is to be Anti-Arab. He is commenting his beliefs about a story in the news. None of us were there in 1998 or so when the offense was said to occur, so anything we say is merely speculation. I read that the co-discoverer of the HIV virus said that the children were infected in 1997, a year before the Bulgarians were even hired to work in the hospital. If indeed they infected the kids for some experiment then I think they'll get what's coming to them. However I don't think they are getting a fair trial, and them being tortured and assaulted is ridiculous.

Somehow, I don't think it's that simple, chief.

Anyways, blaming it on the CIA and Mossad was pretty sad.

I think you guys are missing the sarcasm and irony in the opening thread.

Cedarwings,

Your posts are making no sense in relation to the topic. Why on earth is this an anti-Arab thread??

If the charges are true, then they deserved to be punished. Not with the death penalty though -- sidenote -- interesting to note that an execution hasn't been carried out in Libya for 9 years -- probably shows that this is not a sentence that would be handed out all too often in Libya.

Phxairfan,

The problem with RONEN et al, that they have never shown any respect to Arab lives, whether they were adult, infants or even neonates.

Arab blood is always a source of doubt.

Arab blood is always cheaper and dirtier.

If an Arab is born, this is a threat to Israel existence,
If an Arab is killed even by mistake, this is because he is a potential terrorist.
If an Arab farts, he is polluting the Israeli sterile air.

If 440 Arab infants became HIV positive 3000 miles away from Israel, guess who are the victims?

Bulgarian nurses and doctors.

Tbar220,

This thread in the way it is formulated is a pure anti-Arab propaganda, and if it shows anything, it shows the deep and pure hate somebody has against a whole nation of Arabs.

Say no excuses when you will be treated alike.

Actually compared to the Middle East, it is. (BTW I'm middle eastern).

I just couldn't find any other better example.

Why exactly? Why do you have to drag the USA into this one? To defend Libya (of all countries)?

Marco,
If you really are middle eastern you should know better than to generalize all of the countires. You should know they are all different.

How on Earth is this thread being miscontrued as Anti-Arab? It all started with a link to a BBC news article and then RONEN is automatically deemed "anti-Arab"?

"This thread in the way it is formulated is a pure anti-Arab propaganda, and if it shows anything, it shows the deep and pure hate somebody has against a whole nation of Arabs. "

What's the formula? Summing up the article?? Take the argument to the BBC, not the one who posted the link.

That's why we're here.

True, but they have a lot of things in common, and they're all detrimental to themselves and the rest of the world.

Cedarwings, You are drawing conclusions about RONEN that are not fair. He is merely pointing out the fact that he finds the punishment for those nurses and doctors as harsh given the questionable circumstances about their conviction. Assuming that because its Muslim children and RONEN is Israeli , and that therefore they have no worth to him is wrong. Making a gross generalization that Israelis all want Muslims dead, and don't care about horrible things that happen to Muslims is wrong. These are exactly the kinds of things that breed hate between different groups of people. Because one or some members of a group are one way does not mean that is the way of the entire group. Just because someone is a Muslim dose not make him a terrorist. Just because someone is Jewish or Israeli does not make him a Muslim hater.

I myself have a tremendous respect for the religion of Islam, and I plan on taking a few classes so I can learn more about it. Someone's religion does not have any effect on what kind of person they are, or how they should be treated. Everyone in the world has a right to practice whatever religion they choose. I will never pick who I associate with based on their religion. I have friends who are Baptist, Hindu, Methodist, Lutheran, and Episcopalian. My girlfriend is Catholic, and I myself am Jewish. Its a shame that it is a common though that all Jews/Israelis hate Muslims, because that's really not the case.

You're throwing out some awful strong accusations against RONEN and other users here.

If you actually read what he said, you would see that he is questioning the penalty and the sentence. Where in the world has this turned into Anti-Arab thread deserving of your accusations? Lighten up a bit dude.
