Hi folks,

I see that a single ticket from AMS to Amsterdam Centraal (or vice-versa) is 3.10 Euros and a return is 5.80 or something. My question is this: can I use a return on two different days, or must it be used on the same day?

Your ticket is only valid on the day you buy it up to 04:00 next day in the morning. At that time most train services stop anyway except for a few routes (including Schiphol - Amsterdam if I am not mistaken).

If you buy your ticket at 01:00 in the morning you can use it for 27 hours. If you buy your ticket at 23:00 you can only use it for 5 hours.

Thanks, Peter. I'll just buy two singles. Cheers.

Peter is actually only partially correct. You can buy a return ticket with different return dates - though I think you need to use the ticket counter and not the automated machines/kiosks to do this.

I do it frequently as I fly into AMS but our office is in Rotterdam. I'll fly in on a Monday and return on a Friday.

There is also something like a weekend ticket where you buy it Friday evening (after 7 pm) or on Saturday but use the return on either Saturday or Sunday.

I'm not familiar with the ticket N6376m is referring to, although I know there is/was a special ticket for travel TO Schiphol (not from)
