Hello,  Smile

I'm going to be at STR for 1 day in late August, and again for 1 day in early September. What I'm looking for is a hotel that is at the airport, and that is easy to walk to/from the terminals. Is there any good hotels for viewing the movements at Stuttgart?

Any help would be great!  Smile

Here is a list of all hotels around STR:

Only the Mövenpick hotel is within walkable distance to the terminals !

And here is a map with the best spotting locations around STR:

Thanks a lot for that Info, really useful!  Big thumbs up

The Mövenpick Hotel sounds ideal, hopefully the rates won't be too expensive!

Is it possible to spot from any of the terminal buildings at STR?

Regards

Access to the observation deck is only possible from T3. Besides there is a Burger King at T1 where you have a nice view of the apron.

The following pictures gives you a good overview of the terminals. The observation deck stretches across the whole "toblerone":

A terminal map can be found here:

If you want to go to the runway, you have to take the S-Bahn to Filderstadt. From there it is a 5 minute walk to the runway. It's definately worth it !

Thanks for those links, do you have a good view of the runway from the observation deck?

Is the Mövenpick Hotel on those photos?

Thanks

You have a good view when runway 07 is active. However when runway 25 is active, landings are pretty far away.
Some examples:

You can see the Mövenpick hotel on the first picture. It is the right building across the street next to the field.
Just have a look at the map:

Hi,

I have spotted the Mövenpick Hotel on the photo, hopefully I'll get a decent view from there!

The observation deck looks great, I can't wait to visit!  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Is there an aviation shop there?

Thanks for all your help, I'm adding you to my respected users list.  Smile

Unfortunately there is no aviation shop at the airport.
