Mirage, in future if you are not sure if you are addressing a male or female.... use M. - this is the modern way of addressing someone if you are unsure and it is totally acceptable.

Monica Seles (tennis pro) father's name is Karolj. They are from (the former) Yugoslavia. I wonder if the english version of his name be 'Carol', also?
