Democrat activist and "alleged" environmentalist Barbra Streisand sued environmental photographer Ken Adelman for $10 million because, in an attempt to document coastal erosion, he included on his Web site two photographs of her Malibu home.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Allan Goodman ruled that the pictures did not violate Streisand's privacy and ordered Babs to pay the defendant's legal fees. According to Adelman's lawyer, Richard Kendall, the parties were ordered by the court to settle on the amount of the legal fees, but Streisand simply refused to pay any amount. (sounds like a Liberal...)
The judge ultimately ordered Streisand to pay $154,000 in attorney fees.

"..Uhh.... Isn't it the Conservative Camp who is always trying to cut taxes?"
Uhh, not taxes sunshine, those were the legal (attorney) fees from the photographer. BIG difference Eric. And yes, Republicans are generally for less taxation. I have not yet figured out why you want to give away your money. Hey, maybe you could cut a check to Streisand? Sounds like she is a victim.. LOL

True, they are legal fees, and taxes are totally different, I was just making the point that Conservatives like to hold on to their money, too.
Here's a little tip: When I get my paycheck, I don't look at the amount before taxes. I just look at the amount after taxes, that's all that matters, because I'll never see that full amount anyway.
I'd like to think my tax dollars are going somewhere good, and hopefully November will help me give my say in what I think my taxes should go for, even if it is not what the majority wants, at least I have my say.

so tell me: if the ratio of before-tax and after-tax is $XXX/YYY one pay period, then $XXX/(YYY-ZZ) your next...... that doesnt matter to you? Particularly if the multiple ZZs add up to -YYY(n) for your net yearly income?

Isn't it also Consevative policy to maintain a healthy budget? Oh wait, forgot, 9/11 meant that Dubya could claim the trifecta (which he was happy to borrow from Gore) and not give a fuck about who's going to pay for all the things he's introduced (nevermind that things like TSA & No Child Left Behind are both underfunded).
As for this case, I think babs lost it big time - 10 million dollars for two photographs featured on, what seems to me, a non-profit website.

Of course it is. But taxing someone to death is not considered healthy. There are better ways to build a sound economy, having a mortgage on your house is not considered "good" for your budget, but is a good investment. Over time the spending will return to a lower state.

She suffers from an excess of self regard, hypocrisy and is vastly overrated in her chosen field.
Of course, this also perfectly describes her far right critics, with their petty obsessions, just like Barbara's obsessions too.

streisand is the typical PR enviromentalist:
she uses it to differentiate herself from other celebs and to make some money off it, but in reality all she wants is make bank on it and push her personal agenda.
thinking about it twice, does anyone know if she is affiliated with PETA?
