Just wondering what other hobbies you all may have. My other hobby is building R/C airplanes and collection diecast airplanes. So what are some of your hobbies?

I have many interests, but I often don't have much time to devote to them. Aviation/airlines has only risen to "hobby" status within the past six months.

I have two burmese cats, however I don't consider them to be "hobbies." They are family members.  Smile

I devote a fair amount of time to playing the flute and golfing, so I suppose they count as true hobbies. However, I have many other interests:

--music (all sorts)

--swimming
--running
--basketball

--architecture/design

--cooking/world cuisines

--trains
--cars
--submarines

--meteorology
--astronomy

--world affairs
--the environment

Reading just about anything --
medical thrillers
christian fiction

Geography -- I recently bought the DK World Atlas (pub. 1999) which is in color and has multiple maps of each region, showing boundaries, land forms, economic bases, etc.

In with geography I guess goes highways, canals, and railroads. I love traveling and traveling in different ways. This summer I might fly to Toronto, then take VIARail to Smith's Falls.

Pets, especially cats (I volunteer at an animal shelter.) Recently I've gotten some time in with rabbits and guinea pigs as well.

Driving. I just love driving. Too bad my car just went kaput.

I also like doing research on a variety of topics, especially in medicine. One of my favorite subjects is epilepsy. I've known quite a few people who have seizure disorders.

I have many, besides aviation. I collect Russian medals and militaria, along with some other militaria that gets into my hands. I have collected coins for over 12 years now, have over 700. I also collect paper money and drum sticks from punk rock concerts.

My problem is that I have to many of them, so I know a little bit about a lot of stuff, but I'm not really a master of any of them. Here's some of the ones that I've tried and then got bored with:

Flyfishing
Snorkleing
Archery
Scale airplane models
Skiing - alpine and nordic
Climbing
Tennis
Rock Collecting
and the list goes on...

Here's some of the ones that I'm still pretty active in...

Drawing
Photography
Guitar Playing (a lot of celtic, folky, maritime type stuff)
Flying real airplanes
Flying FS 98 (Just flew a Continental Exp. Beech 1900D from ORD to CMI, reduced the visability to 1 mi, and shot the ILS with the DME arc... fun stuff.)
Collecting state quarters
Collecting Lighthouse Memorabilia (I lived on Lake Huron for a year)
Mountain Biking
Daydreaming about learning how to sail
Other general type daydreaming
Just generally spending time outside
Baseball

And last but not least

GIRL CHASING!!
