I'm having a serious problem with Internet explorer 6 and need some help!
I can't open multiple browser windows with internet explorer. The moment I open a new window, Internet explorer just freezes, and I have to close it and I get the "program not responding" error.
I am using Windows XP Pro and I have not installed or removed anything from my computer. This problem does not occur when I use other browsers like Netscape navigator.
I contacted Hewlett Packard and even Microsoft many times, and the only thing they tell me is to back up all my data and re-install Windows. I have a lot of stuff on my computer and don't want to lose any of it. Is there any other way of fixing this problem? I would really appreciate any help!

Yeah they like doing things the easy way, reinstall WinXp, reformat your drive etc..., But I would try alternative browsers, try mozilla.org , netscape.com , and i dont know the links but there is Opera, and Avant, but if you are stuck on IE6, try reinstalling it, with Microsoft products you never know exactly what the problem is.

You and me both today (well, I couldn't open ANYTHING!). Go to www.techsupportforum.com (I think that's it). I believe I read something on there today about your same problem. They might have answers on there.

LOL..Dazed767, can't believe it, you are also having similar problems with Internet explorer.
Thanks for the tech support website, I will go there and have a look if I can try and solve this. And congrats on solving the problem with your computer...hopefully I can also get this damn IE to work.
