I don't think we'll see Céline Dion touring any time soon. She's got her show in Vegas (which has sold out almost, if not every, night) and she's got her kid and that's why she stopped in the first place. So...we'll see if she ever decided to again, but I don't think it will be for another few years.

Dude, she probably started singing as a kid. Try to give her a call and ask her yourself. How is anybody here supposed to know?
Anyway, Whitney Houston will come to HK again if there is enough dope available.

When did Celine Dion start singing???? Late 70s? Early 80s?
Well, singing might not be the appropriate word here. "Making noise with her mouth" is a more appropriate way of describing what she does, I think.
She started annoying me when she was 12 yo, that would be around 1980/1981.
She has a very good voice; she just doesn't use it well. In English, I find her songs very tacky, way too "middle-of-the-road", "adult contemporary" for me.
Her recent songs in French are not too bad, since she sings essentially Jean-Jacques Goldman's stuff, who is a good composer and lyricist.
I don't like what she does to Quebec, because now people believe that all Quebec singers "make noise with their mouth" like she does. We have an incredible amount of truly good singers here. It's just that most of them are unknown to most of the world, because they only sing in French.
Never let the facts get in the way of a good theory.
