Post your predictions here:

Group A:
Spain - Greece: 2-1
Portugal - Russia: 2-0

The favorite's time now.
Spain & Greece advancing to the Quarterfinals

Group B:
England - Switzerland: 1-1
France - Croatia: 5-0

England still shocked by the French hammer, Switzerland putting up a great fight. France has its best game of the tournament against weak Croats.
France & England going on in the end.

Group C:
Italy - Sweden: 1-0
Denmark - Bulgaria: 2-0

Tough one. I don't think Sweden is as strong as their 5-0 smashing suggests. I could be wrong though. Bulgaria again plays not bad, but loses its concentration in the deciding moments.
Denmark & Italy staying in the tournament.

Group D:
Holland - Czech Republic: 1-3
Germany - Latvia: 3-0

Latvia won't stand a chance against the strong German midfield, while the Dutch defense will have huge problems with the Czech offense.

Czech Republic & Germany marching on.

Personally I think Sweden are a lot stronger than given credit for. Media tends to spend their time on countries with lots of big name players as opposed to just quality players. I would agree that the 5-0 result against Bulgaria was a bit of a misleading statistic, but I do feel Sweden deserved to win the game.

That said, I thin Bulgaria were very entertaining to watch, and it would not surprise me at all to see them play spoiler over then next week or so.

Bitte! The way Germany played yesterday, I think they are capable of beating Latvia 8-0 like they hammerd Saudi Arabia in the 2002 World Cup.  Big thumbs up

Nice to see some postive predictions for the SUI-ENG game Big grin I personally think that we are capable of beating England, since we have always played well against them. If we play like we did on Sunday then who knows, maybe we will indeed survive the first round Big grin

England had better beat Switzerland.

I've got tickets for the England-Croatia match, and I'm not going if they lose to Switzerland and go out of the competition!

LOL @ England 0 - Switzerland 3. Whilst the Swiss are no pussycats and I would be delighted with a 1-0 win, where the hell the predictions of England getting hammered come from I don't know. England showed they were a top side against France and I'll bet none of the Swiss players think it will be an easy game. England don't have a great record against Switzerland (indeed English Premiership teams have struggled at times against Swiss league teams also) I fully expect that if England play to their best then the Swiss will find it difficult to cope. Of course if Switzerland play a great match and England are anything other than at top form there could be a shock result, but I reckon England will win by 2 goals. Switzerland will miss Vogel IMHO

Regarding Sweden - the 5-0 is indeed representative as IMHO they are an excellent side and an outside bet to win Euro 2004. I reckon they may well beat Italy unless the Azurri raises its game 50% from against Denmark.

Nostradamus predicts...

When first Aquarius dawns to furthest Western shore
Shall come Three Lions, Uncouth Vomiting Beasts
To Drink Dry Lusa's Green Hued Grape
Then Flingéd Be In Second Battle's Feasts

I think the answer's obvious.

No way will Spain-Greece be 0-0. neither side is defensive minded and both teams will score at least 1 goal. Whilst Greece lack a top class striker they have midfielders who can score spectacular long-range goals. Greece can be inconsistent - when England played them in WC qualifying 2 years ago we easily won in Athens and yet were lucky not to lose against Greece in England. it was the same Greece side yet the 2nd game Greece were really dangerous. So they could beat Spain but on the other hand they could get hammered if they play badly. I reckon Greece and Spain will progress. My predictions;
A
Spain-Greece 2-2
Portugal-Russia 0-0

Spain and Greece qualify

B
England-Switzerland 1-0
France-Croatia 2-1

Franc and England qualify

C
Italy-Sweden 1-1
Denmark-Bulgaria 3-1

Sweden and denmark qualify

D
Netherlands-Czech Rep 1-2
Germany-Latvia 2-0

Germany and the Czech Republic qualify

Seems like Italy might have to send Totti (that fag) home because the Danish TV has pictures of him spitting on Poulsen. A shame for Italy like it was for Holland in 1990.

Of course I hope that Switzerland will win tomorrow but would not be very disappointed if England wins because they have a good team. Rooney will be hard to stop and Becks is always good for a goal...We have nothing to lose and will be top motivated.

If we lose we will beat France instead  Big thumbs up

Swiss football has made a lot of progress in recent years (I think the U17 or U19 has even won a European championship), not to forget FC Basle's international success. Also in the Swiss league you can see very good games. Unfortunately, Swiss football is not seeing enough marketing and therefore gets underestimated very often.

I look forward to a great game tomorrow. Shall the better team win!  Big grin

RJ100

Here are the results of today's games:

Greece 1-1 Spain

Portugal 2-0 Russia

Portugal's performance was slightly better than compared to Saturdays, but still quite disappointing.

Totti (Italy) should be sent home for spitting at the danish player.
