Candidate Jack "Let's swing Baby!" Ryan, ex-husband of actress Jeri Ryan of 'Star Trek: Voyager' and 'Boston Public' has announced he's dropping out of the race for the Illinois Senate seat currently held by Republican Peter Fitzgerald. Looks like Democrat Barack Obama is going to be a shoe-in. So much for someone Dick Cheney described having "exactly the right kind of leadership that's necessary in the United States Senate." Leading your wife to a swinger's club is indeed, GREAT leadership.

Guess he was asleep the day they were taling about "family values" at GOP Boot camp!

Before I start, I want all to know I'm responding to a post made by B757300 in the other thread that was started and was just deleted.

What this is about B757300 is the man was a walking contradiction. What it's about is that he had the nerve to cast himself as a "family values" candidate. This isn't a mere skeleton in his closet, this is a veritable 800 pound gorilla. Let's look at some choice excerpts from his website and his positions on "Family values."

I believe that marriage can only be defined as that union between one man and one woman.

But it's perfectly fine when we bring in other people every now and again, right Jack?

The breakdown of the family over the past 35 years is one of the root causes of some of our society’s most intractable social problems-criminal activity, illegitimacy, and the cyclical nature of poverty.

As an elected leader, my interest will be in promoting laws and educating people about the fundamental importance of the traditional family unit as the nucleus of our society.

Great, so I assume he was immediately going to pass a bill against polyamory? Likely.

...it seems likely that defending traditional marriage and codifying that defense will be required at the federal level. As such, as a United States Senator, I would support legislation such as Senator Bill Frist’s Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), provided the language remains clear in the defining of traditional marriage and protecting the traditional family unit.

Well, you weren't too worried about "protecting the traditional family unit" when you took your wife to a swingers club that featured whips and cages and asked her to take part in sexual activities with strangers.

The fact of the matter is this. B757300 will continue to find the man blameless so long as he associates himself with the Republican party. Rather than commenting on the issue here, he fell into typical forms with stinging and stunning commentary on the evil nasty liberals! Quite simply, if Adolf Hitler, John Wayne Gacy, Jeffrey Dahmer, Ted Bundy, Ted Manson, Osama bin-Laden, Saddam Hussein, or Satan himself were Republicans, they'd automatically be saints to our friend B757300.

Unlike many liberals, when someone on the right shows themselves to be a moral sewer, we usually give them the boot.

Try again. Or better yet, read some of the statements made by State Senator Steve Rauschenberger, State Senator Kay Wojcik, State Representative Joe Dunn, and State Representative John Millner - all of whom are Republicans and all of whom have written statements in support of Ryan.

The reason why a stink is being raised on this? For years the Democrats have been painted as the party of immorality, of hypocrisy, and of the destruction of family values. Someone got their hand caught in the proverbial cookie jar on this one and it shreds the credibility of members of the GOP on "family value" issues.

L-188, why am I not surprised by your hypocrisy? A Dem in this position is a scumbag (remember Bill Clinton?). But a Republican (of which you're NOT one), is accused of lewd sexual behavior, and like a good Republican that you are, you blame the woman.

You just have no credibility any more, my man. None. You're so hopelessly gone to the right, that you can't see straight anymore. Pure hypocricy.

Alpha1, you need to really stop repeating yourself.

And actually I didn't hear anything about this until it was posted here.

Did you actually consider that my comments might actually be directed at women?

Dude, I'm just catching up with this story, but if he convinced her to go to that swinger club that was indeed great persuasion work!  Nuts

Anyhow, I would have voted for the other Jack Ryan without hesitation!  Big thumbs up

P.S: BTW PPGMD, Ford was a much better Ryan I think, even though I thank you for not putting that moron Ben Affleck in your post.
