Attempting to fire an RPG at the troops is generally bad for your health.

Also journalist, your over the shoulder video camera looks very similar to an RPG, so make sure the troops know your there. *Source some International Journalist website.

One thing: Those idiots are not trained soldiers! Sitting in the middle of the road, without any cover, this moron must have had a death wish.

Was this movie taken in Iraq or Palaestine?

I don´t see how actions like this could make any tactical or strategic sense! No wonder they prefer to attack unarmed civilians.

i dont see how an iraqi shooting at invasion forces within iraq is a terrorist.

apart from that u.s. troops can be happy that these guys have no training or just common sense, seeing all these insurgents act as stupid as possible in urban combat.

Now that has got to sting a bit!

Not too smart trying to fire an RPG from the middle of a deserted road. Doh!

All I can say is... IDIOT!
Looks like he got hit by a barrage of ricochet by looking at the tracers... The impact reaction made me think that way.

Zak,
I fully agree. Imagine the situation if the American troops would have to face a disciplined, combatproven organisation like Ho Chi Minh´s Viet Min instead of religious lunatics, who watched too many Rambo movies.

I´ve seen the same with Sierra Leonese rebells, good enough to terrorise unarmed civilians, but once they faced the British Paras they were oiut of their depth.

Well he certainly qualifies for a “Darwin Award”. What an idiot. He’s in the middle of the road, no cover and when he first gets hit he turns in shock as if thinking ‘that’s not fair, they can’t shoot first!’ Dumb ass, the world is better off without him.

How DARE those troops fire at that innocent man?!!? How did those troops know he didn't have a permit for that RPG launcher?!?! They didn't even check to see if it was real or not! How did they know he was going to fire it whenever he pointed it at them?!!? That poor man's rights were VIOLATED, HE WASN'T EVEN FOUND GUILTY IN A COURT OF LAW!!

He was carrying a weapon but not wearing a uniform. Any soldier would have the right to shoot him on the spot.

Now, now, slow down! All we know is that some idiot gets killed over attempting to shoot an RPG in a civil war-arena. That's not precisely something to change the world!

Aloges,

No, the "dumb" refers to his technique of sitting in the middle of a paved road (plenty of opportunity for ricochets), without ANY cover at all, apparently taking on sometanks or APCs, which are probably covered by dismounted infantry (standard tactics).
He probably wanted to show how "macho" he can be.
Actually he turned out to be a sitting duck.
Also I didn´t hear anybody giving him covering fire.

I´ve seen the same on news from Sierra Leone and Liberia. Guys dancing and taunting the opposition, or firing at long distance targets from the hip (spray and pray method).
They do this until they meet opposition with fire discipline. Then they are dog meat.

Obviously, did I sound like not understanding that? My point is something along the lines of "armed people get shot every day in a war, it doesn't change the world".

I think you missed the point.. The asshole not bright enough to fire off his little bottle rocket without getting shot is not going to change the world, alive or dead. But he was killed keeping him from reproducing (any more than he already might have) and passing on his clearly inferior genetic material.

It is just common sense when you are going to try to kill a bunch of heavily armed and well trained people it is probably best to not hang your entire body out where they have a clear shot at you. If you do expose yourself and get shot in the process don't look so surprised.

PPPPPP, (Prior- Preperation- Prevents- Piss- Poor- Performance) lol, its idiots like that who spoil it for the majority of Iraqi Citizens, good shot in the head by the US marines BTW..., even if it did take 2 rounds lol, looked to be a sniper to me though.

One thing is for sure,,,,,this war has given the world plenty of opportunity to see video of actual killings/executions on their tv's and computers. It's kind of disgusting, but I guess it's the reality of war in the 21st century.

Btw, im not "glamourising" war, when I say he gets what he deserves its because if it means killing one person to save many more, then the marines had to do what there trained for.
The guy was obviously a "Saddam" nut, just the way how he's positioned and aiming that thing makes him a obvious target.
Good job he was too stupid to actually launch that thing, otherwise who knows how many PPL could have been killed, US/UK and iraqis.
Still, there trained to take them out with 1 shot, 2nd time lucky I guess, after the first round he still could have pulled that trigger.

in regard to second shot and first shot theories here:

my guess is that he was hit with at least 2-5 rounds each time for a total of maybe 5-8 hits. the firing sounds were clearly of 5.56mm nato, and these do not poke holes large enough into someone(at least not if nothing very vital is hit) to get him down in a single shot. he had been hit a few times when he turned around, and they hit something trauma causing in the second burst.

it was clearly audible that bursts were fired, and single shot on a toygun with 5.56 is taking chances. i didnt hear a 7.62 or larger round so he was hit with multiple shots. the lack of impact/exit splatter also indicates that he was hit by 5.56 fmj rounds, 7.62 would have exited again most likely, which would have been visibile.

just my two cents to the analysis of visible facts
