Unbelievable it may seem but Greece are into the final of the Euro 2004 football championships, they scored at the end of the first period of extra time.
After Monday and Tuesday even the calendar says WTF...

Unbelievable!!! Now they have to play against Portugal in the final, funny is that both teams already played the first game, now they also have to play the last game of the Euro 2004.

Superb! I was supporting Greece (after England were knocked out) as they have done brilliantly well - considering they weren't at first highly rated. I REALLY hope they win, but I bet Portugal will win.

Fantastic,
I was hoping they'd win today, before this match the only two teams they'd beaten were the only two teams England had lost to... Rather strange eh? . Greece looked very strong for a team who hadn't won in a major championship before this tournement.

It was a pretty boring match (Sometimes I thought I was watching Germany vs. Italy ) but with a spectacular end.
Congratulations to Greece, they are the winner of the Euro 2004, no matter how they will play in the final.

I'm a bit disappointed for the Czechs, they have been far and away the best and most entertaining team to watch at these championships and my bet has also gone down the drain.
But you have to take your hats off to the Greek side. They've beaten the hosts and the holders. Every game they have fought hard and never give in despite being outplayed in some off them. It's by no means lucky that their in the final and I'll be cheering them on.

So, here we are.....
Another great performance, solid defence and holding on until the opportunity arises.
The Czechs played like they should have, trying to score in the first half, but they missed the opportunities and lost that class guy Nedved.
Once the pressure was over the Greek team had his chances.
What about King Otto as next trainer for the manschaft ? (Andreas ?)

Lakobos,
I don´t think he´ll come back to Germany. He was treated quite badly in the Bundesliga, so he might have some resentments.
I assume he´ll buy himself a nice house in Greece and he will retire there as a Greek national hero.

Jan,
Did not know this, but of course he can retire happily here, he has given the Greeks pride of a couple of weeks of joy, that's worth a golden retirement and a statue in every square in this country.

In 4 presences in the Euro Cup Portugal was 2 times on the semi-finals and one on the quarters. This one already on the final. Portuguese Clubs have 4 Euro Champions Cup, 1 UEFA, 1 CWC and more than 15 presences in finals.

The Greeks did everything right, but what was the Czech coach doing? No changes of players in the 2nd half nor the extra time, did he fall asleep?
Impressive run by the Czechs 4 wins and 1 draw during full time, but lost anyway...

2 Germans in the final :P
Well, if you count in the assistants of Mr Merk, it adds up to 4. That´s exactly 4 more than England can offer
Is this a underdog?
Considering that France was the top favorite before the tournament and taking into account that Portugal lost the first match against Greece, Portugal certainly was an underdog until they beat Spain.
Of course they are the favorite now and I wish they will win on sunday.

No offense to the czechs - they were really fighting hard, if a bit nervously.
But I was absolutely rooting for the underdog again. They fought with all their hearts (that´s what was missing with our own team) and ultimately deserved to come this far up.
