OK here is a new topic for us all to post our reports in.

The other MAN meet topic was getting a bit long at 300+ replies...

Wow - that was fun! Thanks to everyone who attended.

I'll write a full report as soon as I can and post all of my pictures on the main MegaMANmeet.co.uk site.

So what did we all think of the weekend?

Brilliant, was a real good laugh!!
Was so nice to meet all of you, there was about 30 of us at one point no? I wish i had spoken to more of you but I found the alcohol to be getting on the wrong side of my body.. But I enjoyed every bit of what happened. I wish I had stayed though over night, had to catch the nasty train back with about 50 pissed mancunians, train took an hour and a half and then waited 20 mins for a taxi.. oh the joy of being under the thumb!!
The best bit of the weekend??
'US Air, please hold short whilst the TB-10 lands on runway Blah blah (wasnt listening)'

Hi people!

I've just hijacked the computer while L is on the phone (ooops, he's off now).

Just like to add my thanks to all for making it such a fun weekend. I thoroughly enjoyed myself - everyone was great - and look forward to doing it all again, but on the condition that it's lovely and warm and dry (!).

I return to MAN tomorrow (flying BD at 0705).

Our flight to Earls C. was superb in every way - especially flying at such low levels (roughly between 2-3,200 feet). I highly recommend this form of flying, especially as it's so noticeably different than flying a large passenger plane.

Anyway, L will shoot me if I don't get off, so cheers for now.

James.

All together it has been a fantastic weekend guys and girls! Cannot thank you enough for that!  Big thumbs up
I hope there is enough room on my respected users list  Big grin

BTW when we landed I thought our a/c returned to MAN in the pissing rain! Big grin

I'll come back with a more extensive report later. I'm full of my flight back home with Airkas1 now:

Kas and I had a very, very pleasant flight back home. In my case the best flight ever. Only 33 pax. Had a nice chat with the three very friendly and gorgeous F/A's who were very interested in our hobby, and a visit to the flight deck.

I think the f/a noticed we boarded the plane while shooting one picture after another and decided to give us a little extra attention. The drinks she offered me aren't included in the service usually. All together it really felt like she was giving us a special treatment. I don't know Kas, do you really think she was flirting with me?
While chatting with her I requested a visit to the flight deck. She said that was out of the question first but she asked it the captain anyway. She gave us a sign that it was OK and said that it was very unique and that it almost never happens. But after she said to the captain I had a AMS security pass it was no problem at all.
After the visit they were more than willing to be photographed. In fact they asked us to do it:

When we were telling that we were in MAN for a spotters meeting and that we were in contact with each other by internet the first thing the most right F/A said was: "Airliners.net?". She is a regular visitor at the photo section. She also said it wasn't fair that we made pictures of the a/c standing next to us at the gate and didn't make a picture of 'their' a/c. We said we did while we were boarding. The girl on the left told us she has been to Farnborough once and was very impressed. The girl in the middle is suspected to be flirting with me????? Probably wishful thinking.  Big grin

I'll certainly arrange an AMS meet. I already visited a few hotels. The dates are either 4/5 sept, 23/24 or 30/31. There is a convention in between so the fares for a hotel room will be sky high then. Eventually you can choose out of 4 hotels. I'm going to find out when the convention exactly is. As soon as I know it I will open a thread for some sort of poll about the dates.

Oh and some were talking about MSN messenger. Well my MSN name is sdemaree@hotmail.com. I only use this for chatting but I'm not on-line very often. For regular/normal e-mail: sdemaree@wanadoo.nl or via a.net.

All the best,
Sander
