Here we go again, I know some of you are going to hate me for bringing up this never ending story time and again (so do I), but I think you might find this interesting:
The leading German newspaper reported this: if all votes in the districts in question had been recounted with the strictest standards (i.e. clearly punched or invalid), Gore would have won by 3 votes. If the most lenient standards had been applied, Bush´s lead would have gone to slightly over 1000.

That's a funny system of elections you've got there, huh? When the voter's intention is no longer 100% clear, or the ballot papers are not easy to mark, the system is screwed up.
I hope this election will bring about some changes in voting...

Whenever did they report this? This was news like about 2-3 weeks ago... possibly more. We've got Bush, he seems to be doing perfectly fine. And everyone can keep their opinions to theirselves as I don't really care

Right on King767 and DeltaRNOMd-80! Gore should be a High School teacher instead.
Here's Gore as president:
"Now, for our daily review. Please open your history book to page 356, oh, and I'm very disapointed in last week's pop quiz, Idaho, I'm looking in your direeeeection, blah blah blah, yada yada yada."

Are we still arguing about this?
What my local newspaper reported was that Bush would still have won the election even if the most leniant standards were used to count all of the ballots. The paper said his lead would have grown as well. This is a very Democratic paper reporting this too.
I am very glad that Bush won, but now we have to put up with 'Thats My Bush.' It looks so stupid, but that is just my opinion.

NOOOOOO!! Then the unfortunate teen-age souls at his school would have to be subject to leftist propaganda! The school system is messed up enough without having someone like him in it...

I dont think we need a GERMAN newspaper making up figures just to boost their readership. Probably some German TABLOID. I would like to go back in time to see what it would be like if Gore won. Ever see the "Outer Limits" ?? It would be four more years of socialism (American Style) with sky high taxes, NO cars, and the white house would continue to be "The Love Shack".
The only LOSERS here are the losers in the United States that need to learn to LET go, because nobody is listening to you anymore. (kinda like Jesse Jackson).
Democracy? I thought the U.S. wasnt a "democracy", but a "Constitutional Republic".
Decency? Who couldnt keep it zipped up in the white house?
Integrity? Bush restored integrity to the damaged White House. Your outgoing Clinton's integrity was "questionable".
The Enviroment? Im not seeing any natural disasters... Bush hasnt even changed any Klinton policies yet.
Civility? Im not seeing any riots.
You liberals are WAAAAAAAAY to out in left field with the Kindergarteners and Altzimers patients.

N312RC,
Just a few observations from a European...
'It would be four more years of socialism (American Style) '
What exactly is it that's so bad about socialism? It has worked perfectly fine in Europe for decades. Oh, and before you jump me: please DO NOT confuse socialism an communism, they're quite a bit different...
'...sky high taxes'
You have some of the lowest taxes in the Western world over there...
'NO cars': HUH?!?!?!? Would you care to explain?
'and the white house would continue to be "The Love Shack".
Now that's just low, and too ridiculous to waste more time on.
'The Enviroment? Im not seeing any natural disasters'
Let me get this clear... You're saying that a decision made by Bush TODAY should have visible results on the environment... TODAY ????? Mwuhahahahahahahaha!!!!! You're kidding, right?
Maybe that's one of the problems of many republicans (and I'm generalizing here, much like you): shortsightedness.

Tupolev,
Got my point across, didnt it? And dont try to turn this conversation around on me. Stick to the discussion, buddy.
Juul,
Thats the problem, this ISNT EUROPE. Americans are NOTHING like Europeans.
Well, he had to be able to satisfy Greenpeace. Why not lie to them and tell them that we will "drastically" cut emissions from cars and factories. Yeah right, in one of the most industrialized nations in the world. Just another promise that Al Gore couldnt keep if he tried. Maybe in his mind, where he sees a "Green Utopia" complete with little furry creatures.
Talk about shortsightedness, look at Canada's healthcare system in crisis.
BTW, Communism is one step forward from socialism.

I couldn't agree more! Only in America could an idiot like Bush be elected as president.
And one question. Why do you republicans associate Gore with lying and having affairs. Clinton was the one who got head in the oval office, not Gore. Let's get that straight.

At least one liberal is willing to admit that Clinton lied and had an affair.
Juul, the reason you think we have some of the world's lowest taxes is because in Europe and other socialist governments, they tax their citizens to DEATH. Here in the states, most level headed people don't want to pay for some bum on the street (thats what makes this country great), if he won't get a job, thats fine, he can sleep in the gutter for all I care.

Keep in mind that in Socialist countries, the government takes care of more of the expenses of their citizens, for example health care. Doesn't mean that I support Socialism, so don't jump on me.
And yes, no one can deny that Clinton is a sick guy...
N312RC, no I don't and I don't care to understand your often times offensive personal attacks. As for your following statements:
"I would like to go back in time to see what it would be like if Gore won. Ever see the "Outer Limits" ?? It would be four more years of socialism (American Style) with sky high taxes, NO cars"
Ignorance... Well, apparently since the majority of the American public doesn't think so, how can you predict that that will occur?
"and the white house would continue to be "The Love Shack"."
Ever heard about not being to debate things that make absolutely no sense? Therefore, I will abstain from saying anything.
"Bush hasnt even changed any Klinton policies yet"
Ignorance comes into play again, eh? How about the elimination of new arsenic standards? Doesn't that constitute a policy change (an anti-environmental one)? His refusal to use the recommendations of the ABA that has been long recognized for its impartiality, due to the fact that they are "too liberal?" What is going to be next then? One day, will it be decided that it is unconstitutional to be a "chink" and that all "chinks" must be eliminated?
"Civility? Im not seeing any riots."
Ignorance, ignorance, ignorance. Wasn't it not long ago that the Cincinnati riots took place?
One more thing, don't think that you will ever get away with your use of the offensive racial slur.

I don't really care. Bush hasn't declared war, he hasn't totally ruined the economy (leave that to the fed), and Cheney isn't dead. Can't we just forget about it and keep your wrath toward the other side to yourself until the next election?

Yes, but did you know, that most Canadian citizens who need serious treatment come to U.S. for it. It's just an example of how state run agencys are not as strong. Did you know that in Denmark, the government pays for your vacation? Of course through taxes, but why would I want the government to finance my vacation through taxes. It's an example of how Europeans are different in that aspect, and how totally different it is here.
Ignorance, ignorance, ignorance. Wasn't it not long ago that the Cincinnati riots took place?
How is this tied to Bush? A riot could have well occured here from the Diallo shooting during Klintons time.

I'll vouch for the Canadians heading south of the border for medical care.
My grandparents have had relatives do exactly that and stay with them on more then one occasion.
And considering the plethora(spl?? hey it is four in the morning for me) of articles that I keep seeing in the Toronto Star regarding the lack of doctors and nurses, and that whole thing about socialized medicine is a little overdrawn.
That whole thing with the kid who died after the ambulance refused to transport didn't help either. Especially when you consider that they called the emergency line twice and they second time got reprimaded by they crew for tying them up!!!
OBAMA-WORST PRESIDENT EVER....Even SKOORB would be better.
