OK.. I was reading the thread about the JCS17/AA61hvy NYC meeting. Even though they probably went to see sweaty, oily men stripping I do have a question:
OK someone said it cost like $30 to get into said club. Then drinks were like $14 each. They blew at least this much money and god knows how much to get some skank to rub her mostly bare ass and tits against them. While these prices do sound inflated I cannot see myself really paying any kind of money for a similar service.
At the end of the night, all they left with just each other and much lighter wallets, and probably bitching about the drinks being watered down.
I may be a boring guy and whatever else I will probably be called over this. But what is the point of blowing all that cash on girls you KNOW aren't going to leave with you?
I may be thinking of this too simply but wouldn't that money be better spent on someone you might actually get laid with?

There is no point to a strip club. In my view, you go, look at scattered ass, pay for a lap dance or whatever, which is like paying for frustration, then you go home and wack off cause you have no girl anyway. However, on a rare occasion its cool to get the fellas together and hit up a strip club just for fun. Thing is, not every club costs you 20 or 30 to get it, and not every club charges 9 dollar brews and 14 dollar shots. They are alright to hit up every now and then, but I do not understand the lifers that hit them up like every day.

Pay for a lap dance?!? No way, you either feel more hornier than ever before or your undies are all sticky, sheesh.
As for a strip joint, just think of it as a 3D playboy magazine!

No real point to them, but if you can manage your spending as would you would in gambling, its really a very pleasant experience to watch a woman take off her clothes. Here in PDX, the clubs allow full nudity, but no touching (includind any inatiated by the dancer). They're allowed to loosen your neckties or shake your hand, but no hanky panky, and no lap dances.
Only a few clubs ask for a cover charge, and they're the scocth and stogie clubs.
There was a time when I was spending more time in such places than I should, and the funny thing that I found out about a lot of the dancers were that many were paying their college tuition with their incomes.

Having been to one of the more famous ones this spring (Mons Venus in TPA) for first time, I can see the point! Actually, it wasn't a point...was many points and valleys...cover charge was $20...non-alcoholic drinks were around $4...tips began at $2...and FULL nude...they get quite close...and depending on gal, you can touch most any place except a couple of "orifices"...lap dance began at $25-30...Spent about $60 for total visit...will I go again? Maybe...kinda liked the feel of one girl For someone who doesn't have time for girlfriends, having a chance to remind myself of why i should, it was a good experience...

Strip clubs for gay men are much, much more exciting than for straight men.
I'm not just talking the fact there are naked boys instead of girls, the atmosphere is extremely different, the dancers are much more interactive with the crowd.

In the long run, they really are pointless. However, I gotta admit, it's nice to go someplace where an attractive woman, that you don't know, seems VERY interested in you! Yes, you are PAYING for it, in one way or another, but when one is feelin' a little low....

It's not that different from porn: some people just like it!
I don't like to go to strip clubs for the reasons already posted (I've only been there for bachelor parties) No wait! I remember in Amsterdam, I went to a live sex show, but that was just fun!
If they are not leaving the kids without food for paying strip clubs, what's wrong with it? I know, you probably will find many ways of spending money more "noble" acts.
I know you can say is sad, but don't be that harsh, maybe a guy (or girl) has no couple and they feel the need to get turned on. If this is the way they find... others maybe feel insecure about themselves and think they can only look, pay, not have. Maybe we all do some things sadder!
The point? some people like to watch other stripping!

I am not saying it's sad or there are more noble ways of spending your money. I just think if you are looking for ass or a ummm release there are many better ways to apply the same amount of money and actually get what you want.
As was previously said, blowing your money (and nothing else) at a strip club, at least in my view of things, would only lead to more frustration. If it works for you, great.

Damn, for $129,000K, some members of airliners.net would have slept with him! Sheesh, Mirrodie or Big Phil would have slept with him for a lot less.

I used to be a bit of a nudie bar regular, I quit going about 2 and half years ago because the girls started to become more and more stuck up, plus all of the girls I knew (I hung out with some of them outside of the club) had quit the business. I went into the one I used to go into once a week for several years (Between 1996 and 1999 was when I was a regular there, by the Fall of 1999, I go in maybe every once in awhile) a few months back, and honestly, it just wasn't my thing anymore. Too many girls with bottle blonde hair, fake boobs, tattoos and piercings. This club used to be real strict about the dancers having tattoos and piercings (One of the girls I was friends with had a small tattoo [not too much bigger than a quarter) that they'd make her cover up with make up. Plus these girls seem to care about one thing, getting you to get a table dance. I had this one dancer sit on my leg and just keep pestering me for a dance, even after I said I wasn't interested in one (I wasn't being cheap, I just didn't want a dance from her.)
One of the craziest strip clubs in Atlanta is The Clairmont Lounge. If you've every seen the episode of Insomniac in Atlanta, you've seen this club. It is the true definition of a dive bar. They get a wide variety of patrons, it is not uncommon to see a group of rednecks sitting at the bar right next to some preppies. The sleaze factor here is on high. Most of the girls are just skank personified (KROC might like this place!), or just don't fit the mainstream strip club dancer image. One of the jokes about The Clairmont is that they have a two scar minimum on their dancers, and C-Section scars don't count. There is more cottage cheese on the thighs of some of the dancers there than in the dairy case at Kroger. This place is where strippers go to die. I've been there a grand total of two times, the first time I went as part of a bachelor party group. We had been drinking over in Little Five Points when one of the guys in the group said, "Hey, let's go to the Clairmont!", so off we went. The second time was with a friend of mine back when a few of my friends briefly ran a nightclub on Ponce. One night, it was deader than usual, and one of my friends that ran the place wanted to go somewhere and get drunk, so he asked me if I wanted to go to the Clairmont. I answered, "Sure, I can use a laugh!" I haven't been since.

I too had the pleasure of visiting Mons Venus last November, that was definitely the best strip club I had ever been to. All nude girls who let you touch anywhere, though not between the legs. Pretty much every girl in there was an 8+, even the shot girls ! Though now I have a girlfriend, and those places are a waste of time, and money to me.

It's been said here that for same amount of money, one could get more "service" by a girl...but then, where for only $22 or so would one get to, at least, see her fully exposed and not have to worry about legal issues (ie cops)? And avoiding any "real" contact avoids any chance of STD/AIDS, etc...I'd agree that it's just a live version of a porn mag...that might rub you in the right way...

Neil, what a shocker; thought you were straight, not that it's a problem for me-I have defended gay rights in this forum! (Just funning with you, Neil )
I can't truly answer your question, Captoveur, but I too was compelled to be at strip clubs regularly when I was young. Surely, my dating problems figured into that but I was also addicted to the club atmosphere, itself. Strangely, I now have something of an aversion to these places because of that atmosphere; not because of the women which I still enjoy. It's now sort of a "been there, done that" thing for me that I really don't want to go back to. I can't really blame guys for liking it but I agree with those who say there are way better ways to spend your time and money. Sadly for me, were it not for those dating difficulties, I wouldn't have set foot in those places but they became a welcome diversion where I could stare at the sort of woman I wasn't getting while drinking away my sorrows. That's the pathetic truth!

I got assaulted at the Strip Club by some dancer. She kept grabbing my head and shoving it down on her. This is going on while JCS is getting into an argument with the waitress.
Chicks were hot, but not worth 20 buck cover plus 9 dollar beers.
