The founder of Gold's and World Gyms has died, after a illness
Joe Gold was 82.
In 1965 he founded the original Gold's Gym in Venice Beach, California, running it for 5 years before selling out to return to the US merchant Marine. Most of the equipment in the gym he welded together himself.
After getting out of the Mechant Marine again, we founded the World Gym chain in 1977, the Same year his original gym was featured in the Docu-drama "Pumping Iron"

I wonder what he thought about how most gyms now are very different from what they were like in 1965, "fitness centers" rather than serious weight training establishments. Somehow I doubt he was pleased.
"Let me think about it" = the coward's way of saying "no"

No matter what you think about Golds now, I'd still rather work out at Golds that Bally's!!!!! The last I spent time working out at Golds, the people were interested in working out rather than looking at other people and having people look at you.
