Dry Or Wet Shave?

Do you prefer a wet or dry shave? I have shaved using both forms, but I certainly prefer a wet shave: it's less time-consuming and it results in a smoother finish, although it is more messy. I find a dry shave takes too long and doesn't get as close to the skin - even though it's less messy.

Instead of dry shaving, why not just shave your face with a friggin' hack saw? Wet shave always.

Definately not dry. Too rough and sore. Wet all the way.

Wet shave, no question - dry shave is like having your skin ripped off by industrial machinery - us delicate sensitive new-age men suffer !

What kind of masochist prefers a dry shave? The best shave is in the shower. In addition to the Mach3 razor, the best advance in shaving has been the fogless shower mirror.

The new Mach III M3 razor is money. Not sure if the vibrations really do anything, but the blades are beautiful. Gillettes new skin conditioning shave gel is good also.

I am still a cheap bastard and buy the Colgate or Barbasol foam. Should I pony up the money for the more expensive stuff, and which foam/gel would y'all reccomend.

My blade is a Mach 3.

If you are spending the money to use a quality razor/blade like the Mach III, then poney up a couple extra dollars and get some decent shaving gel as well.

Wet shave for me. A dry shave just makes me come out in a rash and it's dam itchy. Also the last time I had a dry shave, I cut myself and because the cut was so clean, the bleeding didn't stop for 3 hours!! I use the Gillette Mach 3 and Gillette Foam. It's messy but I'd rather feel comfortable than itchy.

Ive got a Nivea Cool Skin electric shaver - you can shave in the shower and it releases Nivea moisturising gel - makes for a close shave that only a brand new Gillette Mach III can better - smooth as a baby's arse. But it cost me a hundred and twenty quid - so i guess you'd want it to make you a cup of tea for that money wouldnt you? Big grin

    wet shave:

    Wilkinson/Schick Protector 3D Diamond
    Palmolive/Colgate "Sensitive" shaving foam
    no after shave

I always shave in the morning right before I take a shower, so the messy part of a wet shave isn't a problem.
