What is the most common screen resolution in the UK?

I don't see why a UK computer would be any different than A US computer, so I would agree that 1024x768 is probably the most popular. I personally use 1152x864.

Phxairfan, I agree with you there, and my web stats show that to be true.

There is no real difference in the statistics according to country.

Over 7000+ hits on one of my websites, I have produced the following stats:

47% - 800x600
38% - 1024x768
13% - 1280x1024
1% - 1152x864

I am surprised by how many people still use 800x600.

I guess you will be using the numbers to optimise the look of your own site, so another statistic you might be interested in is what browser the users have. I recommend testing it against all of these to confirm the layout works.

90% - MSIE 6.0
6% - Opera 7.51
1% - Unknown
1% - MSIE 5.01
1% - iCab 2.9.8
1% - Firefox 0.9

Also when you are testing, increase and decrease the font size within the browser to see if it affects any of your tables. Often if you set the table to be a size based on a number of pixels, it will be messed up. Best to use percentages to define their dimensions.
