I am getting a case of cabin fever and feel the need to make a daytrip/weekend trip out of town.
I've partially decided that a trip up to Ottawa is in order. It is only a 3 hour drive from my home and it is the most interesting city within that radius... who really wants to go to Buffalo or Albany afterall??
For those of you that live there or have been, what sights are there, what festivals might be going on, what sort of nightlife there is, and anything else that you can possibly think of.
I would plan on making this trip on a Saturday, getting into town midday and heading back down during the evening. Most likely at the begging of August.
Any advice or links to good info would be greatly appreciated.

Park in the market district and walk west to the Rideau Canal. If you've got an entire two hours to spare, you can watch a full transit of the flight locks -- all eight of them. Or you could just stand on the Confederation Bridge and marvel at the civil engineering feat that is the Ottawa flight.
