Who thinks that the Non-Aviation Forum should be deleted?

I think if people want to talk about somthing that has nothing to do with aviation that they should go to a non-aviation site.

NO! Non-av is a place for the forum members to talk about things other than aviation...allowing the members to learn more about each other and to discuss various things outside our aviation lives, and to have fun. I sincerely hope non-av is not deleted and I think most people will back me up on the above...

Considering you have only been here a month I do not think you have been here enough to understand the goings on. If you do not like the non-av forum that is fine, you do not have to come to it. What this forum does is not only let us have a chat with friends, but keeps the aviation forums free of non-av stuff!

This forum was created mainly because people were whining that there was nowhere to leave feedback and suggestions for the site - they were being deleted off the civil aviation forum.

The fact that this forum has evolved to include regular posters on a diverse range of topics is nothing short of amazing.

I think you'll find your idea isn't too popular...you're looking for a whoopin' if you whine that the forum should be gone.

Aloha!

Thee is NO way this forum can be deleted. Too many people enjoy it!! Especially me!!! Some of the most interesting stuff comes in here. Yeah, most of us are aviation buffs, including myself, but it gets a bit old if you don't have variety!!!

Plus you can really get to know people in here, unlike the av forum. I like the av, don't get me wrong, but it's nothing without the non-av!!! Big grin

What SHOULD be deleted is either the Tech/Ops or Aviation Hobby forum in my opinion. You can discuss you aviation or any other hobby right here in the non_av, and tech/ops is ALWAYS discussed in the av forum. I don't see any need for them and I never go.

The trip reports forum is great, though.  Wink/being sarcastic

No way. This fourm is great. Its nice to know what aviation buffs think about when it isnt aviation. Some of the funniest things I have ever read came right from Non-Av.
By the way, I used to be one of the people who dissaproved of having this fourm on a.net. But the more Iv'e used it the more I began to love it. Now I come here almost more than the Civ-av fourm. Its a great place to let loose drink a ice cold pepsi and read some interesting posts.

LONG LIVE NON AVIATION

Chris.

Greg,

I used the search button, and then searched by author. It shows 50 entries per page and counted the number of pages.

As for the TWFirst thread, I've been keeping track of it for some time now. I keep detailed stats for that thread.  Big thumbs up

You don't remember back before the Non-avn forum and how the topics here cluttered up the general discussion. Much better to keep them here.

...you can get a hint of various members' interests, etc., in Aviation- but sometimes it can be an interesting diversion to learn more about others.

I nearly always learn something when I come here, from the remarkably diverse member base. Sometimes I agree, sometimes I vehemently disagree, but (aside from those whose immaturity, insecurity or intolerance for differing points of view compel them to turn to personal attacks) I nearly always find well-crafted advocacy and the mutual respect that having a shared interest creates.

And, in the time I have been participating in and reading these forums, I've seen people of dramatically different philosophies learn to recognize that they can disagree, without being disagreeable.

The Non-Av forum is a good place to take the pulse of the board, so to speak, and I imagine its position here is secure.

I will let you know, Iainhol, That I have been using this site for four years back when all it had was 1,000 photos and a home page. The reason I am shown as only a month old is because of there change in the account system. As for the rest of you, I respect your love for the non-aviation forum, but Aviation is somthing to be respected not to be trashed with this kind of talk.

I a'm suggesting to John that you all recieve warnings for your negitive coments. there is a calmer way to express your fealings.

Thank you

Keep the Non-Aviation forum. There are lots of interesting posts to read, and you get to know other users and discuss things other than aviation. The Non-Aviation forum is very popular, this forum has the second largest amount of posts, behind Civil Aviation.
