I've just spent my weekend watching a marathon of The Swan, including the pageant ( I know I'll get bashed over this  ). I don't know if I'm more amused, shocked or disgusted by it. What urges these women agree to go through such a transformation? Lack of self confidence? Baggage from the past? Unhappy present? I really feel sorry for them. Yes, The transformation is amazing but what is the impact on their future? It can't be that after that process the feel "beautiful" both inside and out like they claim. I think the process of their acclimation back home will be even harder than the one they went through on the show.

And would someone please explain to me what exactly are the commitments of a The Swan? I don't think working for UNICEF is one of the options .
