By this I mean movies which have not gained as much fanfare as some, but that are usually much better!!!

A few which I can recommend are:

Dr.Strangelove
Natural Born Killers
Life is Beautiful

But, my favourite of all time has to go to The Big Lebowski.

This is one movie you have to see!! Stars John Goodman (of Roseanne fame), and Jeff Bridges as "The Dude".

I won't tell you what it's about, other than to say I highly respect the Dude's way of life & attitude.

There's a "dude" in all of us. It's a comedy, but it has quite a serious side/message to give. I have inserted a few audio clips for you to hear.

More info on The Big Lebowski available on the net.

WARNING

DO NOT OPEN FOLLOWING AUDIO CLIPS IF YOU ARE EASILY OFFENDED.

Otherwise, enjoy!!!

"This aggression will NOT stand". (The Dude)

"These guys are a bunch of amateurs". (Walter aka John Goodman).

"Let me tell you something, Pendejo". ("Jesus")

"It don't matter to Jesus".

"Germans. Nothing Changes". (Walter)

THE DUDE (what a cool guy!!! Big grin ) on the right, Walter on the left.

Do the James Bond movies count as being non-Hollywood? They all kick ass.
What about C-Tiger, H-Dragon? That was pretty good.

And then I saw this Brazilian movie called "Central Station" that was good too.

Can't decide!

....I mean your wife ows me.....MY WIFE IS NOT THE ISSUE HERE...... Big grin

Those audio clips man!! Big grin

Guys, why don't you provide some audio clips, I think they are a good way of appreciating a point-like The Dude's "I can't really be bothered to deal with your stupid aggression" scene in the 1st Audio Clip basically underlines my philosophy....

Don't waste your breath with idiots!!! Big grin

You didn't like Central Station? I thought it was good. What about Pixote? Is that more in your league?

Hi Mls,

Were you talking to me? I don't beleive I've seen "Central Station", or the others you mention, so I couldn't pass judgement.

Why not paste some info on them in here.

Das Boot was very good too. But I'd kill myself if I had to see it dubbed.  Smile

Mls515, actually I don't like too much this brazilian movies like Central Station, I mean this movies tell stories that may be interest to people from U.S., Europe, but as a brazilian I see misery things like that everyday so I don't need to pay to see this stuff in the cinema, that's my point.
I'm happy 'cos the movie made a big success around the world, it's good for the brazilian cinema, but for other side I'm not that happy 'cos it seems that the only thing we can export is misery.
I think that the bests brazilian movie don't make much success, they don't even go to cinema out of Brasil.
