The Falcons pulled one out with DEFENCE, believe it or not. We held them to 6 points until the last few series, and our D scored a td on an interception return. Mike Vick looked really good in the first half, but we got shut down offensively the second half. 21-19, though, is a win. We'll take it.

Well, it wasn't Sunday, but the Patriots won against Indy 27-24. Next up is Arizona for the Pats.

The Patriots found a way to win in spite of being out matched. THats what champs do...lets see if they can keep it up.. they should handle AZ pretty easily.

It's the bears so it was bound to happen.

The Buffalo Bills snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. New season, same results as last year. Solid defense until the end of the game, and no offense at all. Drew Bledsoe is perhaps the most overrated QB of the last 10 years. Dude is as mobile as a brick wall. Going to be another long season.

It's been what.. 12 years since the Falcons last won out at San Francisco? Heck, I remember that game - Chris Miller at QB with Andre Rison and Deion Sanders - Jerry Glanville on the sidelines accompanied by MC Hammer.

Too bad the Niners aren't in our division anymore, but its always sweet to beat them just to get our own back for all the beatings over the years!

It wasn't pretty, but the Stillers picked up the win over the Rich "How many more tackles before I need hip replacement" Gannon's Raiders. Kudos to Jerome Bettis for the weirdest stat line of yesterday. 5 carries for 1 yard rushing, resulting in 3 TDs. Liked that Maddox didn't seem too plussed by the tie-game situation in the 4th quarter and also liked my first look at Duce Staley since he left USC.

Bettis had an average of 7 inches per carry. Big grin

Good game for the Steelers though, and nice to start out with a win.

Browns won 20-3
Our defense sure looked a lot better than last year. I figured it would be somewhat improved, b/c how much worse than allowing 295 rushing yards to Jamal Lewis can you get?
Plus it's good to finally win an opener, since this is our first Week 1 win in our new franchise history (1999). Hopefully they can build on this momentum.

You said it Sean, I think Glanville jinxed us that year when we beat San Diego, LA, and SANFRAN and he had a party where he had a "California State Championship" Cup made to rub it into everyones faces. It is really good to win there. I hope our offense figures out how to be productive for at least 4 quarters. I think Vick needs some more snaps with the starting team and we need some more institutional stamina to avoid late game letdowns.

At least we still have New Orleans on our division to fight out the old rivalry. Does anyone here remember Big Ben Right, Bart to Jackson?

Hmmm. Lions won. Damn. I made almost every house payment a couple years ago by betting against my home team (practically guaranteed, depending on the book). Today I had to slink into the saloon, pay my losings on Michigan and the Lions this last weekend, and get a 'mercy drink' from the barmaid. Football sucks. I'm going to the Ryder Cup tomorrow, and I don't even like golf that much. Regards...Jack
