I was just reading in the paper today that the first episode of the friends spin-off Joey pulled nearly 19 million viewers. I realise that the figures were from people looking in because of friends and was wondering was it actually any good?

I caught bits of it, and NO. None of the reviews I saw had anything good to say as well.
It is yet another cookie cutter show written by a bunch of hacks that hopes to buy into the success of Friends. I don't think it will make it an entire season. If it does it will not be renewed. This is one spin-off that will not work (like they usually do).

Considering that Joey's character on "Friends" provided the dumb humor, the "Joey" is more of the same. It's funny in the same way Joey was funny on "Friends"...but I do wonder how long it can last, since NBC has a tendency to pull shows before they even get a chance.
