It's time to make some predictions!

Upon GW's election:

(1) Which A.net forum regular will have the biggest meltdown?

(2) Which state will fall victim to a vast left-wing conspiracy attempt to discredit that state's vote?

(3) True or false: Upon defeat, John Kerry will go into hiding, grow a beard and gain 50 lbs?

(4) While attending Bush's first State of the Union address of the next term, specifically which shade of red will Ted Kennedy face turn and (bonus) how many times will he shake his head from side-to-side on camera?

Good thread! I'll take a stab.

1- Dc10Guy probably....or Rsmith- expect his number of posts to go WAY up.

2- Hopefully not Florida II....maybe West Virginia or another battleground?

3- That, or he may choke on a bottle top from his stupid Heinz Ketchup (which I've stopped buying, btw)

4- Magenta actually...and he may need to see a chiropracter to fix the broken vertebrae he'll get from rapid "head banging"

A shorter and easier to compile list would be of the members who don't have a meltdown.

2- Hopefully not Florida II....maybe West Virginia or another battleground?

definitely a strong possibility unfortunately. I think that PA will be the one to watch, especially if USAir bites the dust before the election. Look to see a surprise that no one saw coming, such as CA going for Bush, or Texas going for Kerry.

3- That, or he may choke on a bottle top from his stupid Heinz Ketchup (which I've stopped buying, btw)

Not a chance. He'll use the tried and true Democrat method: stonewall and cast as many stones as you can to divert attention away from your own shortcomings. If he [Kerry] wins, the people have spoken. If Bush wins, the election was clearly rigged and therefore stolen.

4- Magenta actually...and he may need to see a chiropracter to fix the broken vertebrae he'll get from rapid "head banging"

More likely the bone surgeon, as a result of every single bone in his hands and fingers being broken as a result of punching about 50 walls.

When Bush Is Re-elected...?

Well, last I checked it's not close to Nov 2nd yet, and it's still a tight race. Hell, we haven't even had the debates yet. Shows you the arrogance and disrespect of the RWAK's on here...But hey...Awesome...Please...be overconfident.

IF Bush is reelected?

I don't think any of the above will happen. But remember, whatever does happen, YOU wanted it, YOU asked for it.

Bush will get to take the blame for the Iraq mess, and when he continues to send this country down the spiral, you wont have anyone to blame but yourselves.

Enjoy!

(1) Which A.net forum regular will have the biggest meltdown?

Everyone except myself and the small conservative minority. The worst will probably be Zak, dc10guy, Qb001, Garnetpalmetto, QIguy24, Airplay, dtwclipper, BN747, Randy, Superfly, and Alpha1 or whatever name he goes by.

(2) Which state will fall victim to a vast left-wing conspiracy attempt to discredit that state's vote?

If the election is close, any and every state they can try it in. If it is a Bush blowout, then they'll just fall back and claim that Bush stole it by disenfranchising blacks.

(3) True or false: Upon defeat, John Kerry will go into hiding, grow a beard and gain 50 lbs?

Al Gore 2.0?

(4) While attending Bush's first State of the Union address of the next term, specifically which shade of red will Ted Kennedy face turn and (bonus) how many times will he shake his head from side-to-side on camera?

He'll probably be too drunk to attend or he'll fall asleep like he did last year.

You know what's funny about all this? If Kerry wins, I won't be in an extremely celebratory mood either. I'm not overly impressed with his platform or his apparent ability to lead. I do however feel the world will be a better (and safer) place if Bush is defeated.

Thank god other people are starting to see that neither candidate is that great. Even though Kerry isn't necessarily the best candidate he is still alot better than Bush.  Big thumbs up

Well...for one thing, he'd have to resign his senate seat, which he still holds until 2006 or 2008, I believe. That won't happen, with a GOP governor in Boston. Kerry isn't going to stand by and watch Bill Weld or even Mitt Romney win his seat.

When the movie Alien vs Predator came out, the advertisement stated:

No matter who wins, we lose.

Immediately, I thought about the election after hearing that. It is a really sad state of affairs when we cannot find a candidate better than these two people. It would be interesting to see what would happen in "none of the above" was included on every ballot in every state. It might pull in more votes than Perot did when he ran with Bush Sr. and Clinton.

(My bet is it WON'T be Tony Blair - the man has a general election he'd like to win)

6. Which foreign leader won't turn up at all ?

Acc. to this week´s Spiegel magazine, Holbrooke, ex US ambassador in Germany under Clinton (and considered a likely candidate for secretary of state under Kerry), told Schröder that the first thing Kerry intends to do after winning the election, is to ask Schröder and Chirac to visit him in the White House. Then Kerry will ask Germany and France for military assistance, e.g. troops, to help to clean up the situation in Iraq. This might bring Schröder into difficulties at home, on one hand he can´t refuse Kerry, on the other, how to explain to the German public that German soldiers suddenly should be sent to Iraq, where he always said that he wouldn´t send anybody.

That would be "helpful" exclusively in domestic US politics. It would do absolutely nothing for a resolution of the iraqi mess. You´d need a realistic and well-coordinated involvement of the UN and especially of its arab members to make any progress.

Besides that, stabilizing Afghanistan is at least as important. And we haven´t got enough troops for that, already!

Just a note on if Kerry were to resign...the Massachusetts legislature (which is where all the power lies in that state; about 75% of the House is Democratic and 80% of the Senate is Democratic) has the power to make any bill they want into law, since they can easily override any veto. A few months ago, they pushed through a law that makes it so the governor can't name a successor to an open Senate seat; the legislature instead will call for a special election. Basically, it's to ensure a Democrat keeps the Massachusetts seat.

Typical Boston politics...it's a good thing I don't live there anymore.

(1) Which A.net forum regular will have the biggest meltdown?

I don't knowm but cripes, will THAT be fun to watch if it happens.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

(2) Which state will fall victim to a vast left-wing conspiracy attempt to discredit that state's vote?

It won't be ONE state, it will be the entire election. Of course, the liberals will disregard the vote bribe stories, the incidents of military absentees being ignored, etc. I bet CBS doesn't call Florida early though, hehe...

If I have to say one state, I'll throw Minnesota out there. Shades of Walter Mondale, if you will.

(3) True or false: Upon defeat, John Kerry will go into hiding, grow a beard and gain 50 lbs?

That's not Lurch's style. He'll retreat to any one of his vacation homes, miss all of his Senate votes, maybe go overseas.

(4) While attending Bush's first State of the Union address of the next term, specifically which shade of red will Ted Kennedy face turn and (bonus) how many times will he shake his head from side-to-side on camera?

He won't be there....he'll be passed out cold probably.  Wink/being sarcastic

A perfect example of the typical liberal. Unable to accept a joke and hateful of anyone who disagrees with him. Way to gain respect for your party, mate!

Just like all my liberal friends. They always tell me jokes about Bush and I usually laugh (some are pretty funny), but as soon as I either try to defend him or make a joke about Kerry, they wall themselves in, put on a scowl and won't talk for 2 days.
